Left message saying "HMRC have filed a law suit against me press 1 to speak to case worker"
SCAMMER DO NOT PRESS 1csrtothwec replied 2/8/17, 3:53 PMI did not "Press 1" but hung up. I did then press ring back and some young man (no Indian or other accent) answered, saying "HMRC". I then went online and found this very useful site and the comments about the other (almost identical) numbers which have been used in what sounds precisely the same MO. I have now put on a block on the number so should hopefully have seen the back of them. They really are beneath contempt/despicable scum. I have no doubt I was targeted as my wife and I are over 65 and they phoned at precisely 1.00 pm (no doubt assuming we had just eaten, or were just about to, and that hence "our guard would be down".) I very sincerely hope they are tracked down and punished in an exemplary manner! -

Claim to be from HMRC and "beginning legal proceedings". Number is very similar to one with precisely the same kind of MO. I just let them talk and then hang up. HMRC would never communicate in this manner.

Scumbags with no morales.
My elderly mum had a call from them, threatening her with with being prosecuted. She just hung up the phone. Best way to deal with these scumbags. How they can get away with it I don't know.
