   Same thing, rang me to tell me my router was causing an issue in the area. I asked him at which layer of the OSI model he thought the problem could be and explained he'd called a communications and IT company, he 'unexpectedly' hung up !?

   Noisy, call centre background sounds. I knew from the start that it could not be a genuine call so just put the phone down and looked it up here. Why don't BT shut down these scammers? Useless.

   Rang me at 12.30pm said he was from BT and I had malicious software on my pc, ask me to log in and confirm router number or something. Told him I was with Virgin, he started shouting at me telling me to log in because he needed to fix my router, told him there was nothing wrong with it. I told him he was a liar and he was conning me. I ask him for his phone number so I could call him back to verify. I slammed the phone down on him. Then I rang virgin and they told me I'd done the right thing and my router was working correctly.

   Asian voice says from BT or talk talk or Windows. Block them. Its the usual scam.
