last week the number was from Afghanistan +93 15300962, today it was from Egypt +20 71 830 125 and then 0207 7183 0125...all from Steven White of HMRC re some criminal action against me. If i hadn't received the call originally from Afghanistan and Egypt first, there may be a very slim chance i would had thought this was real (not!)

Automated message re HMRC - leaves voicemail saying there has been illegal activity and to call back on the number. Calling the number from a different phone goes through to mailbox that can't receive message - very cleverly thought out scam. DO NOT CALL BACK

i had a voicemail from a person with a very thick pigeon english accent stating i had illegal HMRC activity and faced court action to call the London based number. I called and spoke to a woman who wanted my details to proceed so i said no because it is a scam and they hung up. This is the 3rd scam call in the last month!!

They left a message on my wifes phone! He gave the name as Steven White of the HMRC, usual fraud guff, and left this number for her to call back. No name left for her or any details. They must be getting desparate. Hope he calls me, I'll inform him he's a see you next Tuesday.
