This man has phoned me three times saying there is a problem with my BT. yconnection. I told him to get lost. Why can't BT trace this man when they have the phone number, or whoever he pays his bill to, I just don't understand thus.

Answered the first 2 calls from this number to hear an Asian sounding voice - in the first instance telling me I had a Windows problem and the second time telling me I had a BT line problem. As I was aware of this scam, in both instances I told them to "get lost" and hung up. Since then they have been ringing me several times a day but since I have caller identity I ignore it. This is plain harassment.

This number phoned my house phone continually today!! My husband answers twice and they hung up so I answered and it was an Indian man who said I had virus on my computer (I haven't got a computer only iPad) I pretended O was glad he had called and he told me to run my computer on and he would take me though what I had to do!! He got so excited I could tell by his booce that he thought I was following his commands!!! Until I had enough and confronted him to say I knew exactly what he wants trying to do was hack people's computers and to never EVER ring me again to which he hung up!!! Absolute scum!!!! Poor people must fall for this!!!

this number called me today. Foreign voice, said i had unfortunately downloaded some viruses, and if i followed their instructions "we" could make it safe again. They were apparently from windows. after a few minutes i told him i knew exactly what they were up too, and i wasnt going to fall for it

Call from heavily-accented female who told me I have lots of viruses and malware on my computer. I asked where she was from - Windows department(!) I pretended to be shocked and asked her how she could tell and she got me to open event viewer - which I did, to see the normal number of errors and warnings. She sat there while I pretended to delete them all, then tried to get me to connect to some very dodgy-sounding website, which I was not about to do, despite virus & malware checkers running in the background. I asked her some more questions but the answers were extremely vague and unhelpful. Finally, after 20 minutes or so I told her I understood exactly what she's doing, and that I had kept her on the phone to prevent her from calling someone who may not understand that this is either a scam (credit card details for a guaranteed fix... not) or, I suspect, to pick up drive-by ramsonware from their website. She tried to shout me down, but hung up when I explained exactly what I was doing and why.

Everyone, get yourself a BT Call Blocker Phone 8600 (with Call Guardian) - its brilliant, you will never be worried with these scammers again - it blocks them for you and your friends and family get through. Honestly cannot recommend enough! Had it 3 weeks and its stopped all this rubbish - FABULOUS!
