Claimed that I am owed £1508 from a PPI claim (whilst they sent me the forms I never got round to completing them!). Said a solicitor, Julie Shaw, would call round with a cheque and would stamp my UKASH voucher (which I had to buy to teh value of their commission). Then once the cheque had cleared she would return to collect it. To many scare stories with similar details to believe this is true!
Pari replied 2013-08-01 16:04:07I had a similar call and asking for the Ukas voucher for the £350 and told me the similar story I hope this is not the genuine call and this is a fraud story. If it is please let me know. They said the women called Marry Edward the solicitor would call round with a cheque and would stamp my UKASH voucher (which I had to buy to the value of their commission). Then once the cheque had cleared she would return to collect it. Is this true? -
A couple of months ago someone called my Mum saying that she is entitled to a PPI refund. Unfortunately, she gave some information and agreed for them to come over. I made her call and cancel. I am currently going through the process of claiming her PPI.
She had a phone call today (06/08/2013) saying that they are coming over to give her a cheque. She only has to pay £300 to get the cheque. I called them and told them that my Mum has signed no papers and that I know that it's a scam. I warned them to stop. They hung up!

They wanted £350.00 Ucash voucher, even told me which shop to go to (it`s just round the corner from your home) in reality it`s 2 miles away. Decided they had made a mistake when I told them to bring the cheque at 6.00pm when I could get a police officer to check things before I handed over the voucher

This number called my elderly father saying they were the ministry of justice.
A person called Derek Watson said they were calling to give him a ppi payment of £2700 and someone called Julie Shaw would call within the hour to take him to a cash point to withdraw £270 in cash and they would give him a cheque for the full amount, trading standards have stated this is a complete scam and they are targeting the elderly
