V dodgy! These people have called me twice now, offering free line rental and a big discount. Claim to be BT, but they're clearly not ... the woman sounded ridiculous saying she was from "the British Telecommunications Company" with big lag on the line. First time they called they asked for my bank card or bank details to authorise the discount. Second time they rang, I hung up early before they got to that point.

Phoned and said from BP Telephone but made it sound like BT. Offered 3 months free bills as long term customer but wanted first card and when I refused to give them our bank details for verification. Far too insistent to be from BT and kept pushing for either card or bank details. Although routed through London the call with time lapses was clearly from an offshore call centre. Seems to be a new version of an old scam.

As like the other comments just rang, strong Indian accent, said her name was Grace! Stating she was from BT, she confirmed my address and phone number then wanted Bank details to get 3 lines free line rental. I refused to discuss bank details and she got very aggressive, I asked to speak to her manager, she said no so I hung up! Obvious con!
