Same as previous comment. It begins by making you slightly worried that your tax affairs may not be in order and is quite convincing to the point where I took a note of the number she gave me.
Then she ruined it by saying "If you ignore this message then get ready to face the legal consequences".
Nobody, let alone a government department, would call with automated messages threatening citizens. Remember that the government works for us not the other way around.
They wouldn't harrass tax payers (and voters) in this way.

Recorded message in an automated voice with American accent, claiming to call from HM Revenue & Customs. Message says its an urgent call, and I need to contact my solicitor then call a direct number. Extremely Time Sensitive apparently...Clearly a scam as HMCR would not use an automated voice with an American accent. Interestingly, the call appears to come from Southampton
