It's a British Gas pestering text where they simply display it as BRITISH GAS. But when tapping the phone icon it shows 2718474427.
I made the mistake of giving them my number a few months ago during a complaint and they almost immediately started abusing the number with texts such as AN ONLINE ACCOUNT IS WAITING FOR YOU when they know that i rarely have the internet and that i WILL NOT open any kind of online account. In fact, I'm using someone else's internet to post this.
I told B/GAS to REMOVE my number due to this abuse of nuisance texts and I told thrm that it is a legal requirement to remove my number. They TYPICALLY ignored the letter as they see themselves as ABOVE THE LAW. The energy ombudsman havebeen contacted and will (I hope) give B Gas a stern warning. If you CAN, "block the number". B Gas are utter nuisances. Also, they are now (as of 1 OCT 2024) using an ADDITIONAL number of +447786200698. I'd advise you to block that one also if you can. I'm now changing my numbner and will NEVER give it out to any organisation EVER AGAIN.
