Man with Asian accent said they were upgrading the TPS and asked if I was still getting nuisance calls (which I am, obviously!) then he wanted to confirm personal details with me. I didn't let him get any further than confirming my phone no because it sounded very dodgy

Received a call from a female with a far eastern accent stating that my call blocking service expires today and can be renewed and upgraded free of charge to block international nuisance calls also. I was asked to confirm my address which was quoted to me without a house number. I stated that if the caller was who they say they were, they would know my house number and I refused to give it. When I asked how a nuisance call could be determined and blocked, I was told that they had software engineers who could do this. I suggested that I could do this by blocking numbers on my phone at which point they hung up. Seems to me that they were a nuisance call.
gill replied 10/3/18, 1:10 PMJust received similar call from this number stating they are a call blocking service. As I can block calls myself, I just put the phone down and BLOCKED them! I just won't speak with anyone these days on a number I don't recognise working on the premise that if its important and relevant to me they will leave a message on my answerphone.
