I had a similar call the other day-it was about Microsoft I told her she wasn't getting any information off me

Obviously an autodialler (2 second delay before he picked up). Guy with heavy indian accent said he was calling about my Windows PC critical errors they have recorded on their Windows server as they are Microsoft certified. I know this scam but he wouldn't stop. TPS registered mattered not as he wasn't selling anything. Obviously no idea. I tried 5 times being really polite to ask him to stop and in the end said I wasn't going to be polite any more and asked him to FO. He said "no, YOU FO". Hung up. I tried to call them but number unobtainable.

Utter scam, as others have said. Eventually if you follow their instructions, they will get you to install a virus on your computer from a malicious website and take all the money you have.
Just tell them they should be ashamed of themselves and hang up! -
Doing the rounds again Friday 6th May 2016, 11.25hrs.
If you have caller display, simply pick up your receiver and don't say a word and listen, it will disconnect after 2-3 seconds.
Don't be taken it by the scammers and get on with your day.

This is a computer scam. I played along in order to waste their time and to get insight into their methods. There is a warm-up act and a main act to follow. Their first tactic is to say they will cut off your computer unless you cooperate. They take you to Event Viewer administrative events in order to show you a scary page with yellow warning triangles and red error messages. Then to another caller for their main strike. They have a complete spurious way of showing your apparent computer |ID which they can read out from their computer. It would be the same for anyone else. Many calls in the morning. Claims to be called Online London Support with an address of 14 Hanover Street London.. Not registered at that address. A fraudulent copy of a real company called Online Support London. Postcode the caller gave PW8 9JQ is complete rubbish.

Call from 02879865845.
Indications suggest that these calls are voice activated upon the receiver pick-up. May I suggest, people who receive such calls and have a telephone which shows first the callers number/ID say nothing upon picking up the handset, if you keep quite for 3-4 seconds, and no-one from their end says 'hello?' the number disconnects. Certainly does for me.
DON'T get into a conversation with this scamming idiots! (I'm in computing/IT for 25 years plus). Good luck.
OH, Move over the Linux Ubuntu, it's free and cannot get any Microsoft O/S virus. (-: -
Called at 11.50am . no one answered.

A male called today stating I had a critical error on my computer. suspected a scam call and told him I wasn't on my computer so how did he know this information. To be honest couldn't really understand any thing else he was telling me except I had a critical error. I told him I wasn't interested and I was going to do some research on where he was calling from. Very persistent and said he would call back later today.

02879865845 rang me just now at 3:45 pm 2nd May, I'm writing time and date in the hope there bosses check these pages to see if they're wasting their time employing silent callers who are obviously not doing there job properly. There was someone there because the massage the other person has cleared comes on when they hang up.

This Asian gentleman called for a second time at 12.30pm on 02.05.2016 having previously called approximately one week ago. His blurb was the same as previous with the claim they have detected a critical error on my Win 10 system.
I advised that I was removing Win 10 and reinstalling Win 7, then declined his offer of 'help' to put right the critical problem. He was very persistent so I hung up and immediately put a bar on this number. -
Usual story; Asian 'gentleman' informing me I had a critical path error and he could fix it. Apparently I'm extremely rude for repeatedly telling him to Foxtrot Oscar?!?! Mind you didn't stop him calling back three times after repeatedly hanging up on him!! Anyhow reported it online at www.actionfraud.police.uk ....not holding my breath mind!!

Called yesterday and again today. It's a scam 'fault on your computer' type call. My wife screamed very loudly down the phone at him, must have deafened him
-
Scam call. "Your Windows computer has critical errors'. I replied that I don't own a Windows computer and hung up. A good reason for owning a Mac!

Call this evening from this number. I refused to give any personal details at all and hung up. I ususally have a Silent Call Blocker switched on but tonight it wasn't as I was expecting a personal call. On the subject of Call Blockers, I'd recommend purchasing one. It does prevent 99% of unwanted calls from getting through and they're not dreadfully expensive either.

My name is Michael. He got no further as I hung up. Again as previously stated, I thought this scam ended months ago.

Scammer. Called advising he was from Microsoft Technical Support and i had a virus on my pc ect. Told me to press windows sign and R and asked what do i see. Told him nothing.
