Calls from 02890165541 are associated with Scottish Power Scammers - Expert Opinion
This number +442890165541 is consistently reported by multiple users as a persistent scam, impersonating Scottish Power. Callers often leave voicemails requesting a callback or claim to be from the energy provider directly. Users' phones frequently flag these calls as suspected spam or scam. The high frequency of calls, often daily, despite being ignored or blocked, indicates a concerted effort to defraud. This type of scam, commonly known as 'utility impersonation fraud' or 'energy scam', aims to trick individuals into divulging personal banking details, making payments for non-existent services, or signing up for fraudulent contracts under false pretenses. It's crucial to verify any calls claiming to be from utility companies directly through their official contact channels, never by calling back a number left in a voicemail, as this is a common 'cost trap' tactic.
