I was called by this number and silly me gave them my card number but soon as i read all the comments phone my bank to put a stop on this straight away
they claimed they from Sapphire magazine giving free petrol. so be warned and thanks for all the other commentsMaz replied 3/11/15, 4:34 PMI was told that if I gave them my bank card details as though purchasing from a shop, the transaction cannot be stopped because it is a guarantee that the money is there, like when we all used to make a cheque out with a guarantee card. -

What a surprise calling a disabled bungalow offering me a so called free magazine with fuel vouchers as soon as they said it would cost £1 to post it out i told them to remove my details twice and they then hung up. They also said it would cost £80 per year for this magazine as well. Glad i never gave them any bank details. I received a call and I was told they were calling from Lancashire County Council and wanted me to do a survey. So as I had sometime ago received a genuine survey form in the post from Lancashire County Council, - but I hadnn't had chance to complete, I thought they were phoning me about it! So I proceeded with the survey and they asked me some personal details, like financial, name, address etc. Then they said, because I have done the survey, I can have £20 petrol vouchers and they said they would send it in the post. Two days later, I received another call, but my husband answered it and they wouldn't speak to him, even though they had already taken some of my personal details - except bank details thankfully! They said, they will call back and when they did, they promised again to send me the £20 petrol vouchers - but only if I let them send the Sapphire magazine in the post with a 14 day trial, but after 14 days I would need to pay £79.99 subscription fee! I said, a firm NO and they said ok and let me go. I checked the phone number by calling it back - 02920364211, but the line is dead, not surprisingly as they don't want you to call them - so it must be a SCAM!!! I suppose I let them say their speil, as I wanted them to pay for the call as long as possible!! I realised it was a SCAM!!!
DO NOT GIVE YOUR PESONAL DETAILS, AS I REGRET THIS NOW AND DO NOT GIVE YOUR BANK DETAILS OVER THE PHONE AS PEOPLE HAVE LOST THEIR MONEY AND HAVE NOT RECEIVED THE MAGAZINE.
THEY WERE VERY DISHONEST WHEN POSING AS LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL AND THEY ARE NOT!!! - THEY ARE JUST A BIG SCAM!!! I WILL BE INFORMING THE AUTHORITIES, INCLUDING TRADING STANDARDS AT MY LOCAL OFFICE!!! -

THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY WHO CAN & WILL DEBIT MONEY FROM YOUR CARD EVEN IF YOU DO NOT TELL THEM THE SO CALLED 3 DIGIT "SECURITY CODE" NUMBER.
We have been pestered by them for several months fron their previous number of 08445670460 & despite reporting them to BT & OFCOM still cannot get them to stop ! -

Repeatedly tried to call me, I love to chat so listened to 12 minutes information was asked if I had any questions. I had a list including some of the old classics, 'How much does the moon weight?', 'How can you handcuff a one armed man?', 'Why are there no B Batteries?' and my personal favourite (which by the way was the last she got to before hanging up) 'If your blood type in B-Negative, are you more likelyto be a pessimist?'. There are loads of ways to put these people off if you accidentally answer a clall to a company like this. They love people who hang up as they are often paid on volume of calls and if you hang up they can redial you every time and get 6+ calls worth out of you. Waste their time, I have asked them to wait while I find my bank card and kept them waiting while I had a bath, they wont hang up if they think you are hooked. Sell them something, I had a guy from a bogus PPI company really interested in buying some titanium lined window glass that absorbs the sunlight and wifi's it directly to your homes power supply?????? WTF was I on, I was stone cold sober and talking crap. If they want to waste my valuable time withtheir nonsense then I will take the toime to amuse myself. I often pretend to be made up characters or tv characters if its a number that I recognise. The point is if you make their call a waste of time they will not call back because they know that you are on to them and they wont make any money from you. Go wild, have a laugh, its at their expense and if they conned your gran or grandpa or a loved one, they would damn sure be laughing about it.
