Just received a call from this number. Did not press any other numbers as suggested by the automated voice.
This call is pretty intimidating at first. However HMRC would contact you via letter normally so you would be aware that way.
Do Not press any options on this call. Blockbit on your phone if you can and share on twitter/FB so that this scam is stopped ASAP. A cruel hoax especially if an elderly or vulnerable person is involved!! -
Dangerous scammers pretending to be from HMRC, threatening immediate arrest for non-existent unpaid taxes unless they get an instant payment! Don't pick up the call - or if you already did, just end the call, don't press any keys - and if they've left you an intimidating voicemail DON'T call them back. Don't worry, there will be NO legal consequences, there is NO arrest warrant, these bullies are just trying to scare you.
