Michael reported UK Government Shielding with the number 03333050466 as Survey
The caller announced he was from the government shielding service and wanted to give an update. To proceed he asked for my name and date of birth. At this point I became suspicious as to why my DOB was requeste. After all they already have this info. When I refused to offer my personal information, the caller said he couldn't continue with the call. How bizarre, this has to be a scam because they are only offering an update on shielding which is coincidentally plastered all over the internet, television, newspapers, radio and a letter accompanied with a pamphlet every week with the food parcel. Now I'm going to play devils advocate and say if this was a genuine call then what a waste of additional tax payers money. Will this government ever get things right during this pandemic?

Definitely a scam! Do not give out any details. When questioned in depth was very uneasy, stuttering and had no answers. Disgusting behaviour towards my elderly Mum
Megan replied 6/16/20, 8:02 PMCan assure you this is not a scam. I work for the shielding helpline myself. The number we call off is 03333050466 and we leave a voicemail if you don’t answer. We are only ringing to see if you are okay and to see if you still need your food parcels, or need any help medication, or need any extra support. Calling it a scam when you don’t know for certain means certain people will believe that and won’t accept the call. We are a legitimate call. When you register on the government website, once you’ve submitted your details as vulnerable it says you will receive a call off this number. I think you should go and have a look.Nanny Gdaug replied 6/17/20, 1:49 PMThis is the government shielding service. Your Mum clearly didn’t understand who was calling. Perhaps you should have researched it and you wouldn’t have put up this unnecessary status. It takes no time at all to Google something. -
Mirror_Man reported UK Government Shielding with the number +443333050466 as Trustworthy number
This is the caller ID that will come up for calls from the NHS National Shielding Helpline. However their agents do not appear to be of the best quality and the quality of the audio of their calls (?cheep headsets for their agents maybe?)can leave something to be desired. This has led to a number of elderly people whom they have called to believe these to be scam calls, which they are not!

Cerise reported UK Government Shielding with the number 03333050466 as Trustworthy number
I have an NHS letter and I got the phone call from this government number. They only asked first and surname plus d.o.b. No other asks for personal info. The call is to see if you are isolating and if you need help with anything. They also gave me helpline numbers for TESCO and Sainsbury's to register with them for online slots for shopping. They were very helpful and it's a great idea if you don't have the support you require.

UK Government Shielding has been reported with number 03333050466 as Trustworthy number
Legit number: It is a call centre working for the shielding helpline set up by the government. They will ask you a couple of security questions such as post code and first line of address or DOB. They will then ask if you need any food, care or well being support and will organise this through your local council if you do. At no point will they ask for any bank details. IF you don't want to answer thier questions then you can register yourself on 0800 028 8327 or go to www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable.
