I received a text and phone call on my registered mobile and when I called the number i was doubtful regarding if it was trustworthy, so checked and called them back, they were able to confirm some recent overseas transactions which were correct and they unlocked my card.... I had not realised it had been locked, so full marks to HSBC

Genuine caller- HSBC fraud dept, didn't trust at first so as mentioned called number on back of my card and they confirmed it was them. Well done HSBC for checking suspicious activity (it wasn't but it did look it to be fair!)

Had this Number ring me today on my new mobile, and I didn't answer as was busy on my landline phone.... OK -this is a new mobile with a NEW number & Not registered with any banks yet, plus I'm don't have a HSBC bank account or cards??? So how can there be Fraud on a card I don't Have!...then they sent me a TXT message..... Take care people!!..I'm not returning the call...

If it is a new number to you, it is likely a number still in their system from whomever the number used to belong to. Just because the number is new to you, doesn't mean the number hasn't been used in the system before.

Recieved a text called number on the back of my card and verified it was a genuine HSBC number they confirmed and reassured me and they stated that I was wise to check. Good on HSBC they had noted 3 bogus transactions.

Like others have put I received a call from this number regarding HSBC attempted fraudulent use of my card details. I was initially suspicious but, having seen the comments here gave requested details. The caller did suggest I could phone back using the number on the back of the card if in doubt. When he was able to give details of my transaction history I was more relaxed/confident the call was genuine. They said they would cancel my card as two attempted transactions had been declined which I confirmed weren't made by myself. I double checked that the card had been cancelled which it had. So very pleased I took the call and they spotted the attempted fraud. If you're still in doubt phone the number on the back of your card (which they are likely to advise if you're still in doubt)

Checked 1471 to find the following number 03456081878 had called me on my landline. checked on Tellows site about comments for 03456081878 which seemed genuine. So l called this No was asked to give my sort/account details. l told the person NO way, he then told me to ring Number on back of card. I did, went through security details to be told by HSBC that they had NOT called me. Remember, never give your account details if asked, always go through the security system of your bank.

100% confirmed that this is HSBC Fraud team as i rang contact at Bank and they confirmed the number. Good job i rang them as my bank account was attempted scammed from the US!

Genuine number - HSBC Fraud line. They call if there is any suspicious activity on your card (e.g. card declined on a website). You will have to go through security questions, but do call them otherwise your card may remain blocked!

Genuine number for HSBC card fraud. Received call on mobile after card was rejected when topping mobile. Phoned HSBC through different number - ie on back of card. The call had been genuine. Suggest you use number on back of card rather than this number, as a security measure - but do phone HSBC.

Scam caller re fraud on my bank account with pre-recorded message. Don't have an account and couldn't even get my name right. The caller sounded of Asian origin and said they would accept reverse charges etc!

Asian sounding person who I could hardly understand reporting to be from the HSBC Fraud dept and would say why he was ringing but and asked to take me straight through security check but said my answers were wrong. I told I was suspious and he told me he couldn't help me and to go to my nearest bank. Having research and found that it was a genuine number I call HSBC who checked with the fraud department who said there was no issues with my account and no one from there had call me........!!! something going on with this number.

Say it's HSBC, but was put on hold. Could be a premium rate number. HSBC Fraud office normally call you first, they don't send you a txt asking you to call them
