This mobile number is a part of our company mobile contract. It appears to have been spoofed by someone undertaking fraudulent activity as they were asking for people bank details, when people were calling the number back, the employees phone would receive the call. The voicemail message that was kicking in was directing the disgruntled callers to our call centre, who made me aware of the situation.
The calls were not originating from the mobile phone itself and were not in any way connected to the company I work for. The mobile number has now had to be taken out of service due to the amount of calls being received. The fraudsters have not only caused havoc for people trying to enjoy their bank holiday, but also my colleague now not being able to use their work mobile phone.
