   This guy hacked my friends Facebook and sent me a message saying "hey can I ask you a massive favour? I'm having trouble with my PayPal, can I send you my months wages, and meet you for it later?". I'd know this guy 10 years, I had no reason to say no... but I was busy at work so I stupidly gave him my log on to sort it out himself, I only had £100 in there anyway. The next thing I know there is £14,000 in my account. I reset all my passwords immediately. I rang my friend Sam and he told me his account got hacked. But I was meant to be meeting this guy with the money later. Luckily the bank was closed and I carried on chatting to the guy as if I didn't know and he went to bed. It wasn't until midnight that I realised he'd actually taken out a loan of £14,000 on my account, and transferred it into my main account. He woke up before me and spammed my phone, asking when I'll be able to get to the bank. I told him id known for ages he wasn't my friend, and that I wouldn't be meeting him.
   
   He then sent me a message with my home address, asking if it sounded familiar. You think you can get away with playing me? You'll be in living hell within the next 48 hours. Reminded me that he has all my details, and threatened to open accounts with every bank in the UK. And that at 21 I should be very scared about being able to pay off the amount of debt he's about to get me in.
   
   All in all pretty scary, the police don't want to do anything however luckily as none of the money actually left my account, the bank are sorting the rest.

   I've just been scammed by this tonight, so he's still going.
   Sent 2 payments by bank transfer but refunded the 3rd one thank god.
   Reported to police and also my bank

   Did you send money, unfortunately after receiving a paypal payment, which i withdrew I then sent the money to this person.
   
   The scammer used a friends facebook and I had no reason not to trust it. I gave no passwords or bank details over.

   Yes, I sent money, and I have written that money off.
   
   The paypal money is from hacked accounts so they will report it to paypal and paypal will take it back, probably getting you banned from paypal as from their perspective you appear to be the scammer. I refunded the paypal payments myself to avoid this.
   
   The bank payment you sent will be to someone else on one of his hacked facebook accounts, which he will then trick into buying bitcoins and sending them to him.
   
   What you need to do is phone your bank and say you sent a payment to someone but it turned out it was not them and instead was a scammer. They will put a recall on the payment which will take weeks to go through and you are not guaranteed anything back.

   I deleted my paypal account and have taken all the money out of my bank account so currently have not lost any money.
   
   Since i deleted my paypal i then made a new paypal account with the same email and the scammer has put 2 more transactions into the account, which I have left in paypal.
   
   So I presume that you are out of pocket by quite a bit then.

   Yes, I am down about £1200 (hopefully the bank can get some back). I was suspicious immediately that it was not really my cousin who was messaging me on facebook so had my mother phone up to check it was her but due to a communication error there I came away assured that it was indeed her even though it wasn't. Still mad at myself for not double checking as I would never have sent this much money if I was not certain it was really my cousin.
   
   After I realised it was a scam I tricked the scammer into sending 39 further £150 paypal payments so I had £5850 of stolen money in my paypal. I refunded all those payments and emailed all the 39 people to let them know what had happened.
   
   The scammer was impressed that I had wasted so much of his time and actually asked me to work for him. Apparently he makes £3000 a day from his scam and said I could make £1000 a day if I bring him paypal accounts. I politely declined his offer.
   
   He also told me he is worth just shy of £1 million. I guess crime does pay.

   That is absolutely outrageous.
   
   I feel bad for the persons money, as I currently have no money in my bank account and physically can not refund it. At any point did you let PayPal know and get it all sorted.
   
   I also got a further 2 transactions, each of which were £300. I have now received an email from paypal about the dispute and not sure what to do now.
