I had send a mail to HSBC and this number rang me back to discuss the matter. The woman on the other end of the line wanted me to confirm my e-mail address and then answered my query. So unless someone hacked the e-mail system of HSBC, I'm pretty sure it's a legit number.

recieved a call from HSBC today. somethin about upgrading the "ordinary" account to "premium". well, I don't like being cold called so I hang up. a day later I phoned HSBC. they told I hadn't been called. so..... question... are the guys at HSBC liars or, and more likely, this call had the sole purpose of aquiring account details and so on, aka phishing.
