A call just after 9am this morning - a man with an Asian (Indian?) accent claiming to be "Michael" asked for me by name. He said he was from "Telephone Preference Management" and was calling about some call blocker. I asked if I was an existing customer of his company, and he claimed I was. But when asked for my account number all he could tell me was my "card" expires in 2018.
I asked if they checked the TPS register (my number is on it) and he said they did. I pointed out that as this was an unsolicited sales call to a TPS-registered number he should not be making the call and I was going to make a complaint about him. He rambled about a call blocker or something... I asked for their registered company number - he told me their phone number (which I already had from caller display) I asked for the company address and he told me "1 Street 5411, <something>, New York." I told him not to call me again and hung up. -

He knew my number and surname. He asked whether I was receiving unwanted marketing calls.
I confirmed that I was receiving unwanted calls at which point he put the phone down. -

This is a scam, an Asian lady said she was from the Telephone Management Service Department. She know my name address and last four digits of my debit card. She asked if I wanted to renew my subscription to to bloke unwanted calls. When I asked where they got my details she said my service provider BT, I'm not with BT. So she put the phone down on me. -
