Spoof nationwide has been reported with number +448004643050 as SMS spam
I had a phone call from 0800 4643050 saying they were from Nationwide, using my name, calling me about potential fraudulent activity on an account. They were very good, very believable, and spend about 30min going through possible fraudulent transactions before asking me for any personal information. When they did I said I wanted to ring through independently to ensure it wasn't a scam. They said I could google the number and see it was a genuine number. But I wanted to ring through independently using the number on the back of the card and did so. It was a scam. When I spoke to Nationwide independently, there had been no fraudulent activity on our account. So they must be able to spoof the number in order to pretend to be Nationwide in some way.
