This number has called a number of times and left no message. Eventually, found it was the AA touting for me to renew my membership. Because of this calling practice they have lost my business.

The AA badgering for business with constant calls to my mobile, this is after i didnt renew with them last year for trying to stick their thieving paws in to my bank account and take whatever they liked for renewal,this and the constant calls have ensured they will never get my family's business again

Over the past two or three years I have told them several times not to call me, and to delete my details from their database. They state that they will and it will take a few weeks. My definition of a 'few weeks' is roughly around a month. Their definition is obviously a lot longer - I left them about three years ago, and they still insist on calling me and sending me junk mail.
Does anyone know the procedure for getting compensation off these guys - I have told them previously that I will cbegin to charge them if they call me again. -

This was the AA yet again, harrassing me via telephone with repeated telemarketing calls about renewing membership. I wrote to them by e-mail two weeks ago and asked them to remove my address and telephone number from their records and to stop harrassing me. since then they have phoned two or three times per week. I will NEVER EVER take AA membership after this behaviour.

Blocked this number now, sick of getting calls from AA, I'm ex directory and haven't been an AA member for over 3 years now! Constantly telling them not to contact me but they still persist!!
Will never return to AA now, their persistent harassment has now put me off for life.....! -

I cancelled my membership under the 14 day cooling off allowed when you purchase services online - therefore why is this number calling me day after day and leaving no message? NO message = no response from me and I will not be returning to the AA when I find how you change your prices depending on how the person got to the website.

The AA - OK, so I simply redialled this number, pressed '1' to speak to an operator and totally bollocked them for harassment. Shocked the operator into submission. Reason? My mother died just over a week ago, so I HAVE to answer the phone.

You can use Truecaller to block calls. You will get notification that the number tried to call but when blocked it doesn't actually ring so you are not disturbed.
You can pay by setting up direct debit and then cancel so not automatically taken following year. Don't take renewal quote...go on to AA site and get quote. Will be lower than renewal.
Some organisations ie NHS get discount.
Be smart. Play them at their own game.

Receiving calls EVERY DAY from the AA having left them earlier in the year. I had already decided never to join them again after they wiggled out of paying for repairs after I spent hundreds getting the most expensive membership with "repair cover".
Now I'm receiving what can only be considered spam, as you do not ever leave a voicemail, instead fill up my inbox with someone hanging up on me.
Disgusting behaviour.
And why didn't you tell us the 0800 number in the above post? Is coming here not enough work? -

Calls me 2/3 times a day landline and mobile. Today decided to pick up to tell them to remove me from their database and I had reported the number for harrassment. They said, it's because we can't get hold of you. I said, put anything you need to in writing and remove me from this list. Woman was surprised and said, "but it's the AA", I said, I don't care who you are! As I don't belong to the AA anyway, I certainly wont be joining them in the future!

Harassment and despite what they posted here, there is no automated option to stop receiving the blasted phone calls. When you call the number an automated message says don't worry, it's not urgent – we will keep calling you. Totally fed up with it.

I have also been called and called by this company at various times of the day and night so today I decided to look them up.
If you listen to the automated response when you call them back you get the option to press one and speak to a representative. I did this and was connected almost immediately.
After providing my address I was told that my membership had lapsed on March 9th a fact I know all too well as when the renewal price was so high I jumped back to their main competitor :)
I spoke to this chap who seemed very nice and sweetly asked him to remove my telephone number from their database as the number of calls I was receiving when I already had explained nearly 2 months ago that I had alternative cover was ridiculous. He kept me on the line while he removed my number from the system then confirmed it had been done. Lets hope this works.
I was always told you get more help when you are sweet… If that doesn't work I'll be far less sweet :)

This number called me claiming to be the automobile associations (AA). They told me i had missed a payment for my breakdown cover. I don't have break down cover. They asked if I was Mrs Y *surname*, this is my mums initials, not mine. She does have AA cover, but I do not know how they got my number mixed up with her name. I told the lady on the phone that My mum will call the AA herseld. She call straight away to check that her payment has gone through. AA said that they have no record of AA calling her, and do not have record of my number. Therefore I wouldn't trust this number at all. I would report this, but i don't know where to report it to.

I cancelled my AA in December because I no longer have a car. They have called me everyday on this number for weeks. They leave a voicemail every day with no message and it runs dead when you try and call back and be transferred to somebody to be taken off the list. This is harassment.

Firstly since when should a client/potential client take the time to stop an unsolicited call? This phenomena that started at the end of the 20th century where ordinary people are put to trouble and left doing the work big business should be doing. Perhaps if Companies resorted back to the old fashioned method of genuinely looking after their customers this unprofessional behavior would not be needed. We left the AA after I can only call very sharp practice from them regarding the re-newal of our car insurance and breakdown, we have a phone book, internet and if we ever relented and wanted to use their service again we would know how to find you. STOP HARRASSING US WITH THESE UNWANTED PHONE CALLS.
AA - please could you confirm that if I were to call your "freephone" number, you can guarantee that I will not be charged for the call? If not, you have no business calling it a "freephone" number in this context - you are well aware that you are dialling my mobile after all.
I would also like to point out, that I work during the day, often late, and am unable to take calls. This is precisely the reason that I have set up a voicemail facility - to anwser in my absence. Each time my voicemail has answered, you have decided not to leave a message and instead to hang up.
Therefore, I regard you to be acting as I regard any other caller who repeatedly, anonamously called my number, only to hang up on answering - in other words, prank calls, constituting harassment.
So many calls with no messages means I won't be using you again for any future products.
Shame, used to be a stalwart British company, now no better than ambulance chasers.
Just got called from this number claiming to be AA and asking me to renew my AA membership and for my debit card details!? AA membership expired 3 years ago.
They didn't even had my name right?

Well done AA - driving your customers awy
When I phoned the A.A to demand they not automatically take my money for renewel,due to the high increase, the A.A representative explained it was to cover the companies losses for last years flooding "up north".
As I had not had an accident, or made a claim I was annoyed that the A.A assumed I would be happy to pay the home owners losses.
I cancelled the policy renewel during that phone call to the A.A
Since then, my mobile phone number to whom I entrusted the A.A to, and I expected to be treated as confidential, has been subjected to unwanted calls.
Perhaps the A.A do not pass on their customers contact details, they wait until you leave, and pass on the ex-customers details.
If AA wants business they should use legitimate methods, not silent / abandoned calls. Atleast announce who you are and reason for call.
AA has lost my business through this practice!
