  1. BarrySW19 reported unknown with the number 082225 as Cost trap

The text says I'm being charged £4.50 but as I have premium services blocked on my phone I doubt that's true - nothing on my bill yet anyway. I would imagine responding via any of the details given will get you scammed - I'm planning to just ignore it.

  2. Lieh8er reported Comp House with the number 082225 as Cost trap

82225 (NOT 082225) is recorded as the number from which a message claiming I had 'subscribed' to a competition service came. I am invited to text STOP to 82225 or call 08001577502 for HELP. UK's moneysavingexpert.com advises 'DO NOT RESPOND'. I'm following that advice and playing a wait and see game.

    Lieh8er replied 2017-06-05 15:21:45
VIRGIN MOBILE (UK) insisted we should text STOP to 82225 and agreed to remove a £1.50 charge from the number plus a 10p credit for the STOP message as a courtesy. We'll wait and see what happens next.
    Lieh8er replied 2017-06-05 15:26:14
'Virgin' also claim we must have triggered the 'purchase' by using the internet on the phone and recommend calling the HELP number in the fraudulent message to find out how it happened. Reluctant to do that!
