Scam? reported unknown with the number +448431165523 as Cost trap
I was ringing a Hotel landline number and a message said their number was changed to 08431165523. I then rang this number which was answered and I was told my call would be answered shortly. I hung on but nobody answered. I later googled the number and saw many other peole ringing differant landline numbers had also been caught out as we are charged for these non geographical numbers. I rang Lancashire Police as they are aware of situation on 01772 614444 and quoted ref LC-20130106-0449. I later tried the original landline number and that was answered by the Hotel so not sure how it all works but I do know I have been charged by my telephone provider for ringing a 0843 number.
