Sorry, meant to add as untrustworthy before. Most Android phones give an option to block these numbers. Just ignore the call until it stops and then look the number up online. If it is a PPI leech like this one look in your call history and block the number. Also, a free android app called afirewall lets you block calls from withheld numbers too. It's free and works. These two things combined have drastically reduced the amount of bottom feeding idiots calling me.

This company phones on an automated loop representing HBSC & RBS banks for PPI claims. No way to stop them.

They get your number from your friends and family by subversive means. If anyone you know uses apps such as whatsapp, viber etc, in the sign-up, they get their permission to access their contacts. That way they get your number(and possibly other information about you that's stored on your friend's phone). Once they have your number they can sell it to whoever they please.

4 Calls again today, I never answer them. Have now blocked the number but, I still get plenty from 0843......my number is a secure number used only for work so I have no idea how they got it.

Persistent caller. I never answer as I heard YOU can be charged! The thing I don't get is I have a new mobile number and only give it out to friends and family so how did they get hold of it in the first place?!

Rang 3 times then cut off - usual pattern for these 08437 numbers so I don't bother to even try to answer them before they cut off - got caught out with an 011957 number the other day (22/10) though and answered only for it to cut out at the 4th ring. Trouble is my number is a work number and it isn't given out
