Received a call today which locked up the phone line for a couple of hours while I came back from work and worked out how to stop it. Apparently it was leaving a voicemail the whole time which couldn't be cancelled. Whatever problem it made also caused the phone to emit a loud siren-like noise initially until it was switched off.
If anyone finds out who this number belongs to, and where they're based, do inform the rest of us. It makes reporting them that much easier. -

Automated call about boilers - no option to opt out ( if they ever work ) - only allows you to accept further calls from unnamed company
Arthur replied 9/14/15, 3:54 PMI pressed option one and gave the bloke a right bollocking, probably won't stop the calls but I felt better for it. -

as mike says, precorded message about new boiler BUT targeting elderly and people on benefits (ie those who probably can't afford one at retail and therefore more likely to fall for scam).
"Press 1 to speak to advisor" but no option to take number off database.
