my mum got this call and they tried to sell her a blocker for nuisance calls which would cost 85 pound or 1.09 a month, she said no and the person carried on and told her to get her card and she said she dont give card dwtails over the phone and her daughter deals with all that ( me) and the person carried on saying nothing will come out of her bank until the bank authorises it and she still said no and 2 or 3 times he told her to get her bank card which she refused. straight after she rang me and i googled the number which brought this up and i also reported it to virgin, just to warn people of this scam please tell everyone u know as my mum was lucky.

a call to my 85 year old mother which I, thankfully, answered. Claiming to be from the CPS- caller protection. Tried the hard sell, I asked what the cost was. He, the Indian sounding man, said £1.09 per month. I didn't let him finish because I told him that I was with CPS and I pay nothing and have no device to attach to my phone.

Asian call centre, couldn't pronounce my name, had the first part of my post code. Gave me a number to call, (0845)1297936 to get a box to plug in to my phone at £1 or so a month. Kept referring to government agency. Beware!

I received a call today from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from fraud department. He asked me if I could confirm that I was receiving a high number of nuisance calls and when I said I was he said he could help and did I have a pen and paper to take down their Customer Service number. I hung up immediately!

For reference they sometimes call from 007771002981, same spiel about working for a UK goverment agency and could supply me with a call blocker and I could call him back on the 0845
He seemed to not understand when I asked that seeing as I am already on the TPS register how did he get my phone number.... -

They rang out of the blue from what seemed a very busy call centre. Caller had an Indian accent and struggled to pronounce English names.
Claimed to be calling from a gov't backed scheme, CPS anti-telemarketing dept. Had a dodgy feeling about the call from the off. They wanted me to call the 0845 1297936 to register and were going to send a call blocker box which I needed to plug into my phone at home.
There was no mention of any cost so I don't know if I would have been stung later. I was thinking the 0845 number would have been linked to a premium line and the box would never show.
When I said I wasn't going to plug something into my home on the basis of a cold call without double checking the gov't scheme first they hung up.
I would recommend staying well clear. -

Someone from this number called my mother in law who is 87 years old trying to sell hr a device to stop unwanted calls. When he asked for her bank details she said she wasn't interested and hung up. He then called her back and called her rude for hanging up on him then hung up on her. This is disgusting.

Sales call to make me a locking device for unwelcome calls to sell. What the crap? The call me and are so unpleasant. I will prefer to block and goes with various apps. I use the tellows app from the store and really helps. Unfortunately, unknown numbers as the not here.

Unsolicited call by Indian sounding 'Kevin' saying a high level of nuisance calls had been reported from my postcode. Tried to kid me that CPS was operating in association with the government. Tried to interest me in a gizmo to attach to my telephone to block such calls for £89.00pm.. Passed me to a female who became quite aggressive when I said I was going to check on the telephone number that 'Kevin' had given me and when I told her that I never make payments to unknowns who phone out the blue, she hung up. This is a complete scam.
