   This IS an automated telephone line for Santander credit card. It will ask you to press a corresponding number for your month and year of birth from set options and then the day to be keyed in. Never does it ask for your account details or pin numbers, just reads out the last 5 transaction amounts and date of them, if they are right then you confirm and they note it on your statement that they have verified these with you. In my case it was because I'd placed 2 identical orders minutes apart online and they were highlighted as unusual activity on my account. Good service!

   This IS a fraudulent number it USED to be a santander number but it isn't anymore.

   It is legitimate. It's actually an automated message from Santander fraud team, I eventually answered it. They informed me someone was using my credit card details fraudulently. Thankfully they caught it early
