phone call from an Asian sounding man, calling himself Vector, calling from the UK Government Office Verification Dept. from tel no: 00163219815. He advised me I had been selected from 1800 residents of the UK to receive £8,000 for use for home renovations, and that as long as I was not using the money for gambling or I was a registered bankrupt, this money can be transferred to me via 3 options: cash in hand, Western Union or a bank transfer. I had a feeling this was a scam. I advised by cash, which he said would be hard as there are too many to pay this method. I then asked if I could have it transferred to my back account. He requested my name, but I advised before I gave him that info I wanted his details. The address he gave was **** ****Holburn London. I then hung up. I then checked this address on the internet, rang the number listed by the address, a woman answered, and I asked for the dept details Vector had given me, but she said they don’t have such a dept. Thankfully I am not easily duped and didn't give a £ away or any of my personal details. I am ex directory and never give our home number, so someone out there has passed it on and that's what p's me the most!

Just answered a call from this number. The line was silent for about 5 seconds and then an automated voice said goodbye and the call disconnected. This country code is for Colombia so it is very probably an attempt at a scam.
