SCAMMERS! WELL FED UP WITH THESE SCAMS. For certain this scam caller wasn't from Aldershot - probably somewhere nearer to Assam.
I REPORT ALL scam attempts directly onto the police fraud database. Google ‘action fraud’ and go onto the ‘police.uk’ site. Click on the ‘report a phishing attempt’ page and read through ALL the information. Then fill in the scam details. Include any link or internet address details. Registration is not required and no personal information will be requested unless you are reporting a fraud where you have lost money. Reporting ALL these calls and texts is the only way that the police can have a record of these attempts to rob us.
Blocking’s a waste of time. The foreign pondlife will keep calling using millions of different untraceable computer-generated fake UK numbers. To stop overseas based criminal gangs using fake mobile numbers, fake UK landline numbers and spoofed (copied/cloned) genuine UK business numbers, contact your MP. Explain the problem and ask your MP what Parliament is doing to force our phone industry to introduce technology to prevent these numbers calling from overseas locations. The technology is available. The UK parliament web site will tell you how to contact your MP. You will get a VERY interesting response. Scams are a multi £Bn tax free industry and must be stopped.
Reporting these scams as suggested above will take a bit of effort but I've done it and continue to report scam calls and texts onto the police database (address saved onto my favourites). Unfortunately, it will take thousands of people making these reports to the police and contacting their MP before anything will get done but thousands of people report scam calls on this site every day. Nothing will happen immediately if you take this action but if no one does anything, nothing will ever happen and these scams will continue.
