Same as above...was easy to trip person up especially when I asked how they were related to Comcast my internet provider. When I told him I was in the middle of something and that I would call Comcast and ask them about the problem he was describing...that emails with virus's and other serious things were coming from my computer...he hung on me!

Had call from 002315468711 today which didn't feel legitimate. The call was very early in the morning which would be unusual for any reputable company. When I answered (just said hello, never answer with my name or number these days) there was silence at first, then very hesitant voice said "I'm calling about your Microsoft PC" - it didn't sound like a trainee caller, more like someone who was making it up as they went along or according to what response they were getting. Background noise sounded like call was coming from private premises i.e. voices but not like the general background buzz you'd hear when it's a company call centre. When I waited to hear what they'd say next, there was silence apart from the disjointed background voices, then the caller again mumbled that they were calling about my Microsoft PC. At this point I decided to just say "no thank you" and hang up, because the call was sounding more and more dubious, and also I was in the middle of a mobile call at the time. Also I don't have a Microsoft PC but I wasn't going to give tell them that and I didn't want to get involved in any conversation at all. It sounded like a call from abroad (and I've since found out that if 00231 was an international dialling code, it's for Liberia) but that's often a sign of legitimacy these days and I'm sure that just many scams are run from the UK as from anywhere else. And you can't trust anything you hear these days! When I googled the number afterwards I saw there were around 20 queries of this number on one of the other phone checker sites but no-one had left any comments.
