As stated in other comment, Microsoft scam call. Led them on for fun. after keeping the morons on the phone for ages I told them that my computer was made of cardboard and I just pretend to use it as I can't afford a real one. got called some very abusive things and then they hung up.

Three calls in three hours to our landline despite them knowin they'd been rumbled at the first call, which makes it harassment. These are criminals trying to gain access to personal details (and/or your 'device') to defraud the vulnerable or stupid among us, which could possibly be described as a 'cost trap'. 'Type of call' should perhaps have 'criminal' added.

Strung these guys along by doing everything they said and sounding stupid. They asked me to press lots of buttons on laptop so they could gain access. After 10 minutes of telling them I couldn't see anything on my screen I finally came out with my punchline "Do I need to turn my laptop ON" They hung up hahaha !!

I think '9' is the 'untrustworthy' rating on this site and you gave them a '1' - Whoops! I like your method of dealing with them b.t.w. although I worry that while I'm talking to them they may have a way of accessing 'device' activity on the same copper wire. Paranoid! -

indian sounding man called saying i'm from microsoft and i need to check your computer i said seriously do you really think i'm going to do that he then shouted a load of abuse and put the phone down idiot do i report this to the police

I have had a call from this number on a few occasions. It was an Indian chap and recently an Indian women. She said "Hi" and I said "Hi" and she said "Hi" again and I said in an aggressive tone "who is this anyway, STOP calling me on this number"
I must admit, it would be funny to string them along. Ask them to hold the line and just leave them waiting!!! -

Been called twice from this number and both times kept him talking for a few minutes. When I explained about this being impossible for me to be hacked and then went into a lot of technical spiel, the first time I got a lot of abuse and the second time he just hung up

This originates in Palestine, as that area is controlled by some very bad people, it is not too much of a leap to guess what the money they are trying to con out of people is to be used for

William called from Microsoft needing to speak to the computer owner but after a 10 minute conversation I told him I thought he was telling lies. He denied this but suddenly couldn't hear me and rang off whenI asked for his number so that the computer owner could call him on return home.
