Twice a man phoned in a couple of weeks to try and get me to renew insurance for a washing machine.
My machine has no warranty or separate insurance.
When I asked him what was the make of my washing machine, he hung up.
Prior to that he aggressively insisted that my warranty had ended. -

Caller identified himself as Lewis calling from Hoover about our Hoover Washing machine? We don't have a hoover washing machine. When I informed him of this he hung up.

Two or three calls a week recently from this number. If I pick up, there's a few seconds silence, then a click and the call ends. Never had a human on that number yet.
If I call back (anonymously), a poor quality american(?) voice message says only "your call is very important to us, please stay on the line and you will be transferred to the next available agent."
I will be logging a complaint about this number via Ofcon and ICO websites. You should do that too whenever you get calls like this.
