I object to uninvited calls at the best of times but more especially when I am busy. The woman gave her name, and in a foreign accent said she had called about my telephone bill. "I see," was my comment. She proceeded to tell me she was from Switchit and was ringing to say she could guarantee a 40% reduction in my telephone bills. I asked for her telephone number, which she provided: 0800 038 5495. "Okay," I said. "I will be able to call you back if I am interested, won't I?" She sounded disappointed. The fact is I have not needed to pay anything for telephone usage for months as it is part of my broadband contract. Forty per cent of zero is zero. It would be interesting to know if any other Tellows member has got what Switchit is offering. It sounds dodgy to me. I am suspicious, as with all the other uninvited calls I get, always when I am busy.
