Rang me a few times at inconveinient times of day claiming to be in internet provider and to check my router, asked to start up my laptop to "fix" the problem. When told it should be fixed in there and not my computer she promptly went silent and hung up

Rang me about 5 minutes ago. A male said his name was Martin from my internet provider. I didn't wait to hear more I just hung up. I was advised by no less the Microsoft when I had a call from a scammer claiming to be from them to do just that and likely they will give up trying to call you. Can only live in hopes!!

saying they are from talktalk and they have "detected problems with my router". Every time they ring the number changes slightly so you can't tell they've rung before. I am heartily fed up with these people. Each time I report the scam number to talktalk on their website. Don't know if it does any good but its worth a try.
