Indian caller - said from BT, and my broadband was to be cut off for 25 days unless I follow his instructions. Told him I was with Virgin fibre - he says he knows that but virgin internet use BT wires!!!!
Told me to turn on my PC and follow his instructions to input an "activation code" to turn my copper line on.
Left him on "hold" for 5 minutes whilst I finished making my bacon & egg butty for lunch, then just put phone down on him.
He rang back 4 times .. I let 3 fo to ansaphone - no message left - I answered last call - he ask aggresively why I put phone down on him? I told him I checked his number and called BT security to check if he was genuine and told him he was a scammer using spoofed phone number. He brazened it out, asking who I knew it was not genuine BT. Stated the call was to be used for training & quality purposes and they are not authorised to ask for personal details...
Told him to go away, he said he will disconnect my BT line now.
