I've had calls from this number a few times, but chose to ignore them as it was an unknown number. Today I decided to call back & see just what or who was behind these calls. I played the messaged left for myself & it addressed me by my name, advised me that I was due for a checkup & gave me the full contact details for my practice to book an appointment. So it's not necessarily an appointment reminder, it may well be your detist informing you it's time to have a checkup. Play the message & if it's not your dentist simply go back to the main menu & opt out to never receive another call. Whole process took less than 40 seconds.

I've received calls from this number in the past and today decided to ring back. It was from my local Dentist reminding me of my upcoming appointment. There was an option to opt out of this service.
    Alan replied 2018-06-06 00:19:38
    Hi 'TrentAnn',
We are a small company and your comments validating the messages we send are very helpful. It is actually the dental practices that use our service and they should only send to their own patients. Occasionally they get a wrong number - but that is an innocent mistake!
    Thanks once more,
    Alan

  2. Maria reported unknown with the number 02035976600 as trustworthy number

There are several negative comments with regard to this number, but I have to say that I am grateful for the call as they are in fact a company that are used by dentists that leave a recorded message reminding you of your appointment. I can understand some of the negative comments, but that is not the fault of the company as they can only respond to the telephone number entered and it only takes one digit to be mistyped for the wrong person to receive the call.

    Hi Maria,
We are a small (highly) professional company and your comments mean a lot to us. We all hate those unsolicited calls, but unfortunately on this forum some people automatically tar us with the same brush! Thanks once more,

The message left came from a Dental Practice that I have not used for 20 years. They offered a free toothbrush to every new patient. If they had checked their records, they would see that I had left the practice because of their unprofessional attitude, which clearly has not changed.

    Alan replied 2018-07-04 10:30:10
    Hi Tony,

The practice should have removed your details. I suggest you contact them. You can also call our number (or email me) and I'll block your number from calls.

We are a small / legitimate company who sends text messages to landlines on behalf of Dentists/Hospitals. 99.9% are helpful to patients. Unfortunately rating our service as you do hurts our company, but not the offending sender.

If you email me, I'll be able to see the offender and keep them under review.

    Kind regards,
    Alan

Rang today stating I had a text message. It isnt from anyone I know and is suspect.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2018-02-09 17:16:08
    Dear Sir/Madam,

We only send text messages on behalf of Dentists/Hospitals. Either you have an appointment due, or they are contacting you as you are due your check-up. Alternatively, they may have mistyped your number. If that is the case, simply contact them to advise them or email me and I'll block your number from receiving their messages.

This is a legitimate service - but perhaps a wrong number in this case?

    Kind regards,

Dentists booking reminder - but says it's a text message.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2017-02-01 14:34:03
    Hi!
Yes, it is a text message - but as it is sent to your landline (as the dentist probably doesn't have your mobile number), it is read out to you. Hopefully you found it helpful, and if you prefer to get it to your mobile, don't forget to give your mobile number to your dentist when you attend your appointment !

Why am I getting calls at 9.14 at night this is ridiculous....

    Alan Rafferty replied 2016-02-19 11:47:32
    Hi Diane,
We operate a service for Dental Practices and Hospitals. Either the message was sent late, or (if you don't have an answer machine and were out), the call would have tried earlier and then retried every 60/90 minutes. It does 'curfew' for these clients at 21:30 though. I know our customers try to use mobiles to send their 'text', so if you advise them of this they will change your number. You can also make sure by
    opt-out by calling our number.
    I do hope this helps.
    Kind regards,
    Alan

    STOP CALLING US!

Neither of the people who live here have dental appointments. If we did then one call a week would be sufficient, however your company seem to think that THIRTEEN calls in four days is acceptable, (4 of those today).

This is harassment. If you were who you CLAIM to be then why not leave a message asking us to return your call? Let me guess, is it outbound calls only, or you can't let us call as it may well be inconvenient for you?

This amount of calls is ridiculas. If you happen to see this message, I don't want excuses, I want a FREE phone number or email address to ask you to STOP. Don't tell me I should have called back on the first call, you should have left a message, you are NOT using my data for the purpose it is intended for, a breach of the data protection act to say the least!

    Alan replied 2015-12-09 23:49:08
    Dear Sir/Madam,

Clearly our client (a dental practice) has mistyped your number into their system. Simply call the practice to advise them of this or opt-out by calling this number back and choosing option 2. It will blacklist your number from receiving any calls from High Street Dental. You can also email me with your number and we'll blacklist it for you.

We are merely the network allowing the dental surgery contact you and are only too happy to permanently opt your number out from further messages. You will notice that I have included my email address on other messages posted on this board.

We are sorry aobut the inconvenience, and we look forward to hearing from you.

Can you want to contact me below (or by email) and I will find out what message was sent (which dentist) and also blacklist your number for you if you would like (ie so you can't get further messages).

I am livid. I have received 10 calls from this number today!! I'm ex-directory and I work from home. Totally uncalled-for intrusion - I'm not a child - I can remember when my flipping dental appointment is, fgs. The dental practice won't know what's hit them when I go in next week

    Alan replied 2015-06-06 14:01:06
Dear Sir / Madam, I have no idea why the dental practice would send a message 10 times. Unfortunately, by rating our service as you have done, you hurt our business, whereas the complaint should be directed to the dental practice. Our service is used by Dentists and Hospitals to remind patients of their appointments.

If you do not wish to receive these messages you can inform the practice, but our service also allows you to block your number. If you did this after the first call then you wouldn't not have received 9 more ! Please call 02035796600 from the number you wish blocked and then you will be blocked from ALL future calls (no problem).

It hurts our business (which provides the facility for dentists and hospitals to contact patients) if it is called a 'scam' simply because one of our customers has mistyped your number.

We are sorry aobut the inconvenience, but we do hope this speedy reply goes somewhat to helping prevent more unwanted messages arriving on your phone.

    Many thanks,

    Burt,
I'm very confused about your posting. You provide no details as to what exactly has happened. We just provide a text-to-speech facility for dentists and hospitals. What possible message could they have sent you that has made you this irate? Please get in touch on this forum or by emailing directly to [email protected] including the landline number that any message was sent to and we'll investigate immediately.

I can only assume there is some misunderstanding as you will see that there are no negative comments on this forum since 2013.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2014-06-29 13:18:07
This number is ONLY used by Dentists and Hospitals to remind you of an upcoming appointment. You are likely to have an appointment on Tuesday or Wednesday (hence it was generated today). If you call back the 020 number within 48 hours, it will play the message for you. You can also choose to blacklist your number from future messages. You can advise your dentist / hospital of your mobile number and they won't send a message to your landline anymore. They were just providing a courtesy reminder. Nothing to get too upset about ?
  18. Figfest reported number 02035976600 as unknown

Anyone who uses a system like this is unintentionally (one presumes) enabling scamsters who use similar methods. Not trustworthy at all. Southern Dental taints itself by lazily using it.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2013-09-24 15:47:37
Figfest, Could I respectfully ask what problem you experienced? Did you receive an unsolicited message? Or was it sent to you in error (as wrong numbers do occur!). May I suggest that if you don't wish to receive voice-text-messages that you call the number and simply opt-out. Ifthere is anything I can help with, please don't hesitate to contact me.
    Kind regards, Alan [email protected]
    Figfest replied 2013-09-24 17:42:54
This is the issue. A call comes in saying "you have a text message" but does not identify who it is from. it invites you to press a number. This is a well-established method used by scamsters to connect people to premium-rate. Your methodology is fatally flawed if people cannot identify who (allegedly) is calling. I do not even trust the system enough to press the number to opt out. There is no guarantee at all you are you say you are. You probably are, but your apparent ignorance about scamsters' methods is very worrying.
    Alan Rafferty replied 2013-09-24 18:12:09
Dear Figfest, Our clients have the facility to record their own greeting announcing their company name. Where they do not do this, we will provide their details at the end of the call in the message details anyway. We are also working on recording the customer name for them so it is announced (regardless of whether they provide it). If you press nothing, the message will still be played to you as it happens.

I think your reference to scams is misplaced as if a call is made TO you, you CANNOT be charged for the call no matter what numbers you press. You may be referring to hoax warnings that have been circulated. A quick internet search shows some hoax reports such as the following: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/premium-phone-rate-hoax.html

A more appropriate forum for discussion is directly to my email (provided) and I can help further or even call you to discuss (or opt your number out for you if you provide it to me) if you'd prefer not to call the message control centre.

We primarily supply to Dentists and Doctors so the message you got was likely a courtesy reminder of a forthcoming appointment or a notice to advise you that your check-up is due.

Again, any further information, please email me.

    Kind regards, Alan [email protected]
  19. Dagwood reported number 02035976600 as unknown

If this is a genuine call on behalf of dentist/hospital then the caller should find a way of identifying on CallerID the party on whose behalf they are calling so that the receiver does not treat it as scam/hoax etc and ignore the call.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2013-07-16 15:21:21
Dagwood - this is exactly what happens. We don't allow any customer to send a message without valid 'caller ID properties' so the message should contain their phone number, but will also state who it is from.

Naturally, the 'actual' call will come from our number (as we are the ones calling), but if the recipient calls back our number, it will tell them who called and play them back the message. This is IDENTICAL to how BT sends it's equivalent messages (it it comes from the BT message centre 0845 602 1111).

I do hope you find this helpful and will comment to that effect !
    Thanks, Alan

Mr.Rafferty -The number is displayed but not the name of the caller, so How do I know who it is from? How am I to know it is a genuine call and not a coldcall/hoax/spam. I ignore all calls not known to me if the name of the caller is not shown.
    Alan Rafferty replied 2013-07-16 17:06:55
Hi Dagwood, I'm afraid it isn't possible to know the name PRIOR to answering - just like it isn't with the equivalent service provided by BT (which appears to come from BT 0845), but it is always provided in the details after picking up.

Sir / Madam, We deliver text messages in spoken format for dental practices and hospitals. The sender will have been provided to you and you can complain to them for sending you this message. As we are the 'deliverer', we allow you to blacklist your number. Just call the number and select option 2. You will get no more calls from this sender or any sender who uses our service (and the sender will be informed that you have opted-out of receiving messages from them). We sincerely hope this answer helps. You can also contact us at [email protected] and we can investigate any complaint.

  21. [email protected] reported number 02035976600 as unknown

I dialled this having received a recorded voice saying there was a spoken text message waiting for may landline number.
Another recording (with more options) said it was txt2landline.com.
Googling suggests this is a snall firm run from a flat in W.Hampstead, London - possibly.
I can't think why anyone would text me in such a manner so will assume it is advertising. There may be more calls so I will see if the option to opt out works.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2013-03-05 15:47:20
We run a telecom service to deliver text messages in spoken (voice) format for hospitals and dental practices amongst others. The message always states the phone number of the hospital/surgery that sent the message as well as the content of the message such as "Don't forget your appointment at the Surgery with Dr. Jones on date and time". They will normally send this to your landline if you don't have a mobile phone.

It is not malicious or a marketing call. Your opt-out will prevent the surgery contacting you and they will be notified that you have opted-out should they try to send another message.

The claims that this is a legitimate 'dental appointment reminder' service are laughable. It's 2016! Surely dental surgeries can text and email?

    Alan Rafferty replied 2016-02-02 20:26:16
    Dear Sir,

All our clients who use this number do so to remind their patients. The only reason they send messages to landlines is if they don't have a mobile listed for a patient which is often the case with legacy databases. It replicates the service that BT offer called BT Text. If you would like more information you are welcome to email me at [email protected]

This number called numerous times yesterday and called again at 0800 this morning, and again at 0900 and 1000. I answered it last night out of curiosity and an automated message asked me to press a number to be connected to a dental practice in Boston. I don't even live in Boston and already have a dentist. Getting pretty annoyed now.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I am certain that they have a wrong number on their appointment book. If you email me with your number, I'll ensure it is on the blacklist, or simply press 2 the next time as it gives you the option to blacklist your number from any future messages.
No 'spam' messages are sent via our systems - only messages for valid patients appointments reminding them of such.

    Alan Rafferty replied 2014-09-01 11:50:06
The service is used to remind you of your forthcoming dental appointment. If the appointment is on a Tuesday and the system is set to remind you 2 days prior then a message on a Sunday will be sent.
If you do not have a forthcoming appointment, perhaps someone in your family does OR it is not inconceivable that they dental practice mistyped your number. If this is the case you can opt out your number by dialling it back.
