Indian person called me, could barely speak any English he said he was calling from Azzenza looks like their website is : http://www.accenza.com/
He asked if i was interested in web design.
When I asked him where he got my number from he hung up.
Pretty sure you are not allowed to use the WHOIS database for domains to spam people with telemarketing. Am also on the UK's telephone preference service but it's not like some company in India is going to obey UK law so I don't think there is much we can do except block them.
Lou replied 2/2/16, 12:16 PMWhen you register your domaine you pay a fee to remain private. Not only does the domain vendor sell your details they have sites that pick up on new registrations. My email is flooded with rubbish as well as poor quality now blocked calls. Thank god it was just an email for the purposes of registering for me. There does not seam to be any real person monitoring these spammers. -

Missed this call, but strange number calling me early in the morning I normally check on google.
Reading other reports it is very strange as I have just booked domains as well and have received spam regarding web services.

That's usually not the Registrant, but the person who likely to be a web design company. Clearly spammers don't understand this. -

Got called after we secured some domains. Said that they would like to help us with website design and "they have done many many trustworthy website designs" that sentence itself rings alarm bells! Definitely an Indian gentleman that phoned,which suggests they're calling from India and not the normal London number. To add to frustration, he didn't understand me and when I asked questions such as, but what is this regarding he just answered "yes"

Reading the notes left by others, this is related to web domains. I have bought a few domain names, all through the same company called www.123-reg.com. I've also been getting a few emails from people I don't know offering to build my sites and also a few emails about paying money to be able to register in google search engines. Can only assume someone is selling my details.

Just received a call from this number on my mobile. I answered, said "hello', there was a brief pause but background sounded like an office, then an English guy said, "Donna?". I said "yes", thinking it was someone I knew. Then the line went dead. I typed the number into Google and got this site. They have not contacted me again. I see many people talking about domain names. I have not recently registered one, but have just cancelled one.

Registered a domain a couple of weeks ago and have received a call a day asking me if I want web services - asked to be removed from their records and they pretended that the line was breaking up and they couldn't hear me, they then hung up and called back next day and same thing.
I feel so sad that in 2015 there are companies out there still doing this. -

Keeps calling me about a domain I purchased. 3 times now I have told them I don't want my website developed. I then went on to asked how much and was told a monthly charge of £895 until the website was complete, and another said £425 plus £120 monthly for maintenance and support. Fuck off. You can get software development for that price.

Like many people here I've started receiving phone calls after purchasing a couple of domain names from GoDaddy. Fortunately I provided a mobile number so have simply 'blocked' the caller. It is outrageous that personal data is being given out to 3rd parties as I ALWAYS tick the box NOT to receive any offers from 'specially selected partners'.

On the basis that this is a genuine London 020 number and not a +20 Egyptian number, I tried calling it back with my own number withheld (141 prefix) but there was no answer after 35 seconds.
If, as others have stated, this is Accenza selling web design and development services then there is a Data Protection issue in the domain registration mechanism. I recently purchased a domain through Google and have since received unsolicited e-mail offering such services. I replied asking for my details to be removed but now I'm receiving these phone calls.
It may not be Google that is leaking the information but perhaps their domain registrar or another organization in the chain.TPP replied 7/14/15, 3:44 PMIf you registered the domain and used your email address then it's very easy to get hold of that and any other details used to register the domain publicly by using a WhoIs request to the DNS servers - It might be worth your while changing your registration details if anything comes up that you don't want publicly visible -

Several calls unsolicited but silent when answered and then hangs up. Very annoying as caring for an ill person and calls are important. We are supposed to have such calls stopped by the preference service, but this seems ineffective.

Trying to sell me a website to a domain registered 24 hours ago. Unfortunately they rang the registrar not the customer, so they got an ear full. They hung up so I called back and the phone went unanswered and then was picked up and put down. I called back again and it was answered by another person who told me it was a coincidence that they called... Funny how they know the domain name they were calling about though. I have told them further action is being taken as my phenolic is registered with TPS.

Even though we told them we didn't want their services - we had also recently registered a domain name. -

Called me after I registered a domain and I spoke to a guy who sounded like he was from India who offered to help me with website design. I knew he was a telemarketer but I listened anyway - I told him I wasn't interested and not to call back. I received another call two weeks later and did not answer/no vmail left. Caller is now blocked.
