   Further to my previous comment, it turns out that this really is a genuine number used by Co-Op Bank's anti-fraud team, and they really were querying an unusual transaction on my Visa card! Seems very unwise of any bank to ask customers to call a non-publicised number and give their card details, PIN and security password - any fraudster could do the same. I'd always recommend phoning the number printed on the card, statements or official website first.

   Automated voicemail claiming to be from Co-Op Bank Security Department querying suspicious transactions on my card. Caller had my name and correctly gave last 4 digits of my Co-Op Visa card - but anyone I'd ever purchased from would have those details. It asked me to call an 0333 number immediately, but read it too quickly for me to jot down. It sounded like it could be genuine, but is highly suspicious. This 0333 number is not listed on any Co-Op documentation or website, so I suspect a clever scam. If I'd returned the call, they would probably have tried to get my PIN and CVC number.
   Anyone with any security concerns about their Co-Op Visa card should call the number printed on their credit card or statements: 0345 600 6000 - never trust numbers given by random telephone callers!
