Claimed there was a fault on my computer. I asks them to stop call in me and to remove my number from their list. He insisted there was a computer fault and provided correct name and old address. I asked for IP address of computer and an incorrect one was provided.

4 calls so far, just hangs up if answered (presumably they've rung lots of numbers and by the time I answer there is no scammer free). Appears on caller display with alternating ids "international" and "04546637520" but unfortunately my upstairs phone doesn't have a display to warn me.

Said he was phoning about Windows hackers and that my IP address had shown up on their system as vulnerable. Wanted me to open my computer and follow his instructions. Told him I worked for an IT Department. He started to get stroppy and abusive, but still insisted I followed his instructions. Said he was phoning from London. I put the phone down on him :-)

Pretending to call from London about Internet problems, when in fact they are calling from the Theni district in South India. Got stroppy when I challenged him about my Internet provider
