US female voice with call centre sounds in background said hold the line someone was going to connect. Then it was muzac for a few secs and the line went dead. It's a scam of some sort. A US call centre on a UK no. as all UK mobiles start with 07 or +44 (0) 7. It's usually Asian call centres that call. It might be a standing joke but don't laugh- there's a good reason. Asia is about 5 hours ahead of the UK. Due to time zones US starts at 5 hours behind the UK and stretches west for another 4 hours. When I was called about 10 or 11 a.m. it would be mid afternoon in Asia and staff on daytime pay rates but not even dawn in the US which would be on night rates.
