    Bank of Scotland, Lloyds, and Halifax are all part of the same group. This is a genuine Bank of Scotland number and appears to be used by Lloyds and Halifax too for some services.

    Rang number back and and message said they would ring back at a more convenient time.

    This caller is a scam, was apparently a call from Lloyds offering free personal relationship managers, when asked what made me eligible evade the question. When asking for phone numbers to contact them back, this number or the number on the back of my card was offered as an answer. Which is not right.
    Please do not fall for this number and act.

    This is a valid number and the comments otherwise are WRONG. Companies DO have to ask for some information to verify you are the person they want to speak with.

    It will be something to do with an application you made (business account, mortgage, loan, etc) or just a security check.

    SCAM! careful! they called me saying a new service (free of charge) was available at my bank. They would have to run with me some account details and security questions to activate this. I challenged that because they called me, so they should know who I was. Later I have confirmed with my local branch and with the central office contact line and no one recognised the number nor the guy calling me! I was warned by the bank not to disclose any details over the phone. It is a SCAM!
