   It was a recorded message claiming to be from Barclaycard _ I don't have an account! I hung up when I realised it was a sales pitch and annoyingly when I tried to make a call out shortly after, I found the message was still rambling on. I had to wait for it to finish before I could use my phone.

   I rang Barclaycard on their freefone number off their website and they said that this number has nothing to do with them. I also received a txt from someone claiming to be Barclaycard with the return number 08001615213 asking me to call. Barclaycard have confirmed that this is not their number either. I do not have a Barclaycard account. They said that this is a scam.

   This is the barclaycard team calling about late payments or exceeded credit card limit. If you don't have a barclaycard, somebody has used your number so that they don't get these calls themselves.

   This number called several times a day, and no message. At the same time Barclaycard themselves were calling with details of a payment required

   I had been suffering calls from this number for some weeks, suspecting it to be a scam and just leaving it. Finally I snapped and spoke to Priya Thingalaya (realy!) at Barclaycard on 08448119111, who then went to check the offending number. She reverted back to me positively stating that it was their marketing company that was responsible. I told her that I was not even affiliated with the bank in any way so found it strange that they should even contact me ... She took my mobile number and my name and said that she would ensure that my details would be struck from their records and that she would register a complaint on my behalf. It was then that I asked her full name and whether my call had been recorded. She confirmed this and I assured her in return that, should I not get a written response to my complaint and if I had one further call, I would be taking the matter to the highest financial complaints authority at the highest possible level and copy it to my MP!! She then quickly assured me that I would indeed be informed accordingly of the findings regarding my complaint. No more calls since and I'm now awaiting the letter which I will copy here to all those interested once received.
   
   So people out there. It does do pay to take 10 minutes to call the number above and do the same as I did. If enough of you do it, they will probably think twice before pestering everyone anymore. And who knows... I may even take it to Watchdog..!!

    I was overwhelmed by the sheer amount of calls I got from this number and from "Barclaycard". It confuses me because I don't have any business with them. I've never had. So why the calls? Then I had to give up and pick up the phone again, and listen to their story, again, and I told them AGAIN that I don't know the person with that name. I'm sorry but I just don't. Someday I went to Barclaycard and wanted to clear this up, whatever this was and here comes the surprise: I'm not in their database! Well, of course I'm not. like I said, I don't have any connection with this company. Sooo that means that either some scammers called me with the lie of being Barclaycard, or Barclaycard and the scammers alternated their calls to me.

    It's a collection dept for Barclay are when you have missed a payment or gone over your limit etc
