Best way to stop these calls is to agree for a salesperson to come round. When they turn up, tell them straight. "That because they are wasting your time, you are now wasting theirs". I did this about 4 years ago with a well known double glazing company, guess what? They have never rung me again.

This number is not their real number. Their real number is 0161 826 7993.
They refuse to take you off their list so do what someone else has said:
Agree for someone to come round to do their checks. When they arrive just say you cancelled over the phone the same day. Maybe do this once per week till they get the message.
Uglybugga replied 4/11/14, 11:20 AMSadly, the number you had for them is, surprisingly, no longer working. It just rings as unobtainable. -
Miranda reported Boiler replacement for people on benefits with the number +441613217891 as Telemarketer
I have been receiving up to 10 calls a day from different telephone numbers, some apparently from my local area code. All going on about free boilers of you're on benefits, which I'm not. They say press 9 to opt out which I have done, to no avail. It's driving me mad.
Jenny replied 11/21/16, 3:04 PMSame thing has been happening to me - I don't answer the phone anymore as I know it will be them. Let me know if anyone knows how to stop them?Jane replied 1/3/17, 2:27 PMHave exactly same problem, ten times a day, always different numbers, put each one into caller-barred, still keep coming and coming!Tobydog replied 2/6/17, 3:46 PMMe too I have been getting between one and two calls every day for the last month. I block these calls and they use another number. Exasperating. I am now reporting every call to
Ico, does not seem to help though. -

I have received this automated call over 100 times in the last 3 months. Upon pressing 2, Dean - the twit at the other end REFUSED to help me stop getting these calls & INSISTED he be allowed to "do his job properly". He was rude, obnoxious, & "Hung-Up" after a scornful slur.
The Next time I get this phone call, I will agree & then murder the person who arrives to install the boiler. I have had enough of this. It's harassment.

we are getting up to 12 calls a day from a company that is trying to sell boilers and it is driving us mad. My parents are both in their 80's, in poor health and are also receiving on average 10 a day. Something has to be done to make whoever is responsible suffer in a similar manner.

Basil reported unknown with the number 01613217891 as Telemarketer
There's possibly something more sinister going on here than first appears. Call centres are anonymous & unscrupulous, surviving on the commissions they receive from selling 'leads' generated on the phone.
One way to silence the call centre is to remove it's income stream by taking the paying 'clients' out of the food chain. If every call resulted in an appointment, subsequently a waste of time, the 'leads' will be seen to be useless and the 'clients' will abandon this tactic. The call centre then moves on to the next scam.
Same principal could be deployed in other tele-marketing scenarios. Worth a thought. -

I've had 7 solar panel calls today and it's still 4pm. They started in May 2014 with a recorded man's voice who has been urgently trying to speak to us. Now is a woman saying 'dear customer'. I am getting between 3 and 8 each week day. I had enough, someone help!

I have constant calls yet our boiler is new, we don't have cavity walls and the pitch is too low (wrong roof) for solar panels......oh and we are a building company yet we qualify...how.....it is joke electronic calls cannot be stopped they must pay BT! When ever they call i keep them on as long as I can this way (1) they are not making money (2) they are not scamming a vulnerable person (3) I have a laugh making up rubbish: they do not get any useful information.....oh and they are rude when you say no, makes me chuckle...yet do they ever think you may want to say yes in the future????? as if hahaha

Like most people I`m getting these recorded calls about boilers and solar panels sometimes three and four times a day, I bought a call blocker that stops the 0161 No`s, but now I get, we do not have the callers No`s, with the same recorded message.

News release: 30 May 2014
The ICO is asking for consumers’ help after a spike in nuisance calls selling boilers, insulation and solar panels.
The automated calls appear to be coming from 0161 or 0191 numbers, but initial investigations suggest the caller is using a false number. The number may also show up as being international on some phones.
Anyone receiving a call is asked to report it to the ICO.
Anyone who’s already engaged with the company or received a visit from someone representing them should call our Helpline, on 0303 123 1113.
Andy Curry, Enforcement Manager at the ICO, said:
“What we want to do is to stop these nuisance calls, but to do that we need the public’s help. If you’ve signed up to the TPS and you’re getting calls, or if you’re getting recorded message calls when you haven’t asked for them, then we need to know.”
“It looks as though these green energy initiatives and dubious scrappage schemes are becoming ‘the new PPI’, with more and more people receiving nuisance calls and texts about them. They are responsible for a significant chunk of the concerns we receive, and are a focus for our enforcement team.”
Text messages promoting green energy initiatives and so-called ‘scrappage schemes’ were responsible for 42% of concerns raised with the ICO between January and March. That coincided with a significant reduction in the number of concerns about messages relating to Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).
Earlier this month, the ICO warned two companies in Yorkshire and Devon they face fines totalling £140,000 for making nuisance calls. The ICO also raided a SIM farm in Wolverhampton which may have sent more than a million nuisance text messagesJohn replied 7/24/15, 1:43 PMas I have said on another site the ICO seems to be a useless organisation and is full of good sentiment. The ICO needs a complete overhaul as it is not fit for purpose.I share everyones concerns here. This problem is not being reported in the news which it should be.annoyed replied 1/13/17, 3:42 PMI get these If your on benefits you can get a boiler for free calls several time away. This thread has been going for 2 years and NOTHING has been done about it. Each time it is a different number - probably randomly generated - so no point putting it into barred calls list. BT should be fined every time one of these calls goes out - that would soon stop them. How can it be legal to show a false number? -

Recorded message saying I definitely qualify for something to do with boilers. I have reported it to the Information Commissioner at http://ico.org.uk/
Their website indicates that this has been reported to them before and the more it is reported the better.... -

3 or 4 times a day call about free boilers. Starts off - we have been trying to contact the home owner etc. etc. Then tell me to press 2 to talk to an adviser. I have NEVER responded, always hang up but am being driven mad by these people. Don't know this is the number because it doesn't give one. BT OUGHT to be able to stop this. We pay enough for the service. I am a fragile 73 year-old woman but I would resort to violence if I could get my hand on these people. GET IT STOPPED

I get anywhere between 4-7 calls a day of these people, 7 days a week and I'm sick of it. It's got to the point where I feel harassed. Every time I press 2 to Speak to someone I don't get through. And lately they've been calling from an unknown number so I can't stop it. I've even spoke to BT to see if they could do anything but since they change there number constantly they can't block the calls.

Been reporting this number to ICO for some time as I'm getting several calls a day. Beginning to feel I'm wasting my time doing this, so I was pleased to see the petition that's been started and have signed it. Now need to think of some way to get lots more signatures

These bottom feeders ring 4 to 5 times daily, registered with TPS but frankly that is a waste of time, have complained to Sky & to ICO several times. Scamming companies like this are a total disgrace and should be closed down and the Directors jailed.

I'm registered on TPS. The agent referred me to their website greendeal.co.uk. Down the bottom, it says Green Deal is a division of MVF Global , company number 06951544. Made complaint to Ofcom about this company - which is actually Marketing VF Ltd. This company has won a Queens Award for Enterprise this year!

Took this off ICO website.
News release: 20 May 2014
Two companies have been warned that they are set to face fines totalling £140,000 for breaching electronic marketing rules.
A Yorkshire direct marketing firm was linked to thousands of nuisance marketing calls by the ICO. The company was identified after members of the public made over 630 reports to the ICO and the Telephone Preference Service after receiving calls, despite opting out of receiving marketing calls.
Meanwhile, a Devon PPI Claims company faces a similar penalty for prompting over 600 reports from the public.
The two companies have one month to provide evidence proving they were not responsible for making, or initiating, the calls. If no evidence is provided, the final penalties will be served and the companies’ details, along with information about their illicit activities, will be released.
So i urge everyone to report this number every single time they call. We can stop this with enough reportsFred replied 5/23/14, 9:30 AMSo reading above it looks like ICO takes action when they get 600 complaints. Wonder if it is 600 in a month?John replied 7/24/15, 1:52 PMThere probably should be a separate thread to say that the ICO are a useless organisation.I share everyones concerns here from reading the comments this is a serious breach of people's privacy in the UK at the moment and nothing is being done. -
Ann Oyd reported unknown with the number +441613217891 as Telemarketer
As with other callers, there are periods when I am called numerous times a day. The same recorded voice about Government funded UK based boilers, tying up your phone, prompting you to press a number. I would never do this in case it leads to a premium rate number, so do not know how to stop these pests. I have reported this to the ICO many times. Will they ever stop? If only the cost of their calls could be increased to make the telemarketing/scamming not cost efficient.

At least one automated message per day. BT useless. TPS useless. Ofcom useless. I think they must trawl the planning applications etc as we only started getting hassled after putting in a planning application re solar panels.
Does anyone know how to stop them, preferably permanently and ideally fatally. -
petebathome reported unknown with the number 01613217891 as Harassment calls
call about 3-4 times a day. My girlfriend is undergoing chemo so I have to answer the phone. Also registered with TPS - which doesn't prevent pre-recorded calls. Entered 2 and spoke to a girl where I demanded to be taken from the database.... She then asked me the age of my boiler. When I re-enfrced my demand to be taken off their list, she simply said "I can't" and hung up. Something needs to be done about this Company.
