   Maybe this number is being spoofed by scammers as well, but in my case, it was a legitimate call from British Gas Business about our communal electricity meters.

   Called and asked for the name on my British gas account I said I've never been a customer and if my name was on your system you'd be addressing me with my name. She said I owed £45.63 for BG and the questions were for security. She hung up when I asked her why she was scamming people.
   
   Has rang daily leaving Voicemail claimed still to be British gas saying I owe money on my account and they'll call back or for me to go to their online portal.

   Scam call claiming to be British Gas - won't provide any info and advises due to DPA, if you question them enough they get the hint

   This number has called me a few times even after I told them they were a scam outfit The previous house owner used British Gas, I changed to another energy supplier more than a year ago and paid British Gas's closing energy bill. I think they have got hold of British Gas's ex customer's details and are trying their luck saying that money is still owing.
