Just received a call from the same number, but it was an automated message this time...my IP address had been compromised and needed to be changed, call back to get it sorted etc etc. I strongly suspect that those who are purporting the number to be genuine in some of these other comments are simply part of the scam. Be careful...

This is Microsoft's UK number. I deal with them regularly and receive calls from this number for support tickets, usually from technicians in India. Scammers will no doubt quote you this number.

I called 03448002400 to obtain a Microsoft Email Address as I could not find one on t e Internet. The person answering the call gave me an Email address which he said was Microsoft. When I sent my complaint to Microsoft I received a response. Later on I had a phone call from 03448002400 on the same matter. Not only that I had flashed on my computer screen a request to pay a sum of money by credit card. It was obvious that someone was trying to get my bank details. I kept getting messages on various telephone numbers about my complaint, I then decided to check these numbers on the Internet, and they all proved to be numbers used by Microsoft scammers. I have now blocked these calls, but I have still received a message which is supposed to come from Microsoft about my Windows 10 problem.
I have now informed the sender of that message to close my case.I AM NOW CONVINCED THAT 03448002400 TELEPHONE NUMBER IS A NUMBER USED BY MICROSOFT SCAMMERS AND THAT MICROSOFT IS FULLY AWARE OF THIS BUT CAN DO NOTHING TO STOP IT.iT IS DEFINITELY ADMINISTERED BY A GROUP OF INDIANS AS ALL THE PEOPLE WHO CONTACTED ME HAD INDIAN NAMES. -
This is NOT Microsoft.
The guy tried to get details regarding the company and scare us into believing our IT was compromised in order to get enough information to actually do us harm. Was a fun call - the guy barely spoke english and shouted "LISTN TO MI" multiple times before I hung up. -

I have a support ticket open for my Microsoft Surface, and this was a genuine call.
Sadly, it's now all too easy for scammers to clone the display number too. -
This is a genuine Microsoft number. I was given it by them in case I got cut off while they were trying to fix my PC.
-
I recieved this number from an official microsoft support team for further assistance. It is totally safe.

This is the support number of Microsoft, I requested a call back from Microsoft and they replied via this number so is Very Trustworthy.

This was Microsoft Azure calling me because I'd raised a helpdesk ticket with them

Another dangerous scam. These turds should be hailed in an open cage

To those saying it's a genuine Microsoft number, I have just received a call from them, and I have NO Microsoft products in my home, so why would Microsoft Support be calling me?? Be very wary.

This is a scam. Just had a call from a guy claiming that my computer was under attack and he was going to 'help' me. I asked him for his number and said I'd call him back and verify the company before going any further. He hung up!

I logged a fault call with Microsoft and the call back was from this number. I suspect it is an outsourced help desk but it was them.

Rank Xerox replied 2016-12-15 12:25:12These guys are not Microsoft. They called me and told me my Windows computer had a security breach with unusual activities during the last couple of weeks (or something like that). I asked which of my computers he was talking about. He said the windows computer that was connected to internet, duh!
Thing is I don't have a windows computer, so this is just a made up story. Ha! -
Had a call from an Indian guy called 'Richard', claiming to be from Microsoft and that my computer was being hacked and all my personal data, photos, etc, etc were being used. Asked him for his number he gave me 0344 8002400. The number he was ringing from was 01786 601000...... Suspicions raised I started asking him various questions and he eventually told ME that I was wasting HIS time (hang on a minute, you rang me!!). His final words before abruptly ending the call were 'I am blocking your computer immediately'. Needless to say, my computer is fine. Total SCAM and certainly NOT Microsoft.
