Royal Mail spoofed has been reported with number 07973345000 as SMS spam
Claimed to be from Royal Mail customer service.
Started off with an automated voice stating that they were from royal mail and that I had a misdelivery, with mumber options. I clicked 1 and went through to a person. She took my surname and said that she had a parcel to be delivered to me (she confirmed my name), and that it was in their depot in london, was I free to collect.
I said that I don't live in/near London so I wasn't sure why it was being delivered there.
She clarified that it had been returned to the depot it had been sent from (seemed suspicious to me).
I asked if she could confirm the address the parcel was supposed to be delivered to.
She said that she didn't have access to that information, only basic information, but that she could get her system to send me an automated text with the parcel information (seemed suspicious)
I asked if there was anyone superior that could access that information
She said there was, could they give me a call in 15 minutes
