Sorry, meant to add as untrustworthy before. Most Android phones give an option to block these numbers. Just ignore the call until it stops and then look the number up online. If it is a PPI leech like this one look in your call history and block the number. Also, a free android app called afirewall lets you block calls from withheld numbers too. It's free and works. These two things combined have drastically reduced the amount of bottom feeding idiots calling me.

They get your number from your friends and family by subversive means. If anyone you know uses apps such as whatsapp, viber etc, in the sign-up, they get their permission to access their contacts. That way they get your number(and possibly other information about you that's stored on your friend's phone). Once they have your number they can sell it to whoever they please.

Rang 3 times then cut off - usual pattern for these 08437 numbers so I don't bother to even try to answer them before they cut off - got caught out with an 011957 number the other day (22/10) though and answered only for it to cut out at the 4th ring. Trouble is my number is a work number and it isn't given out
