I had the call as my details were passed to them by a third party survey company. I told them this was a telephone preference number but was advised not selling anything just promoting a new magazine. If I took one issue I could get £20 petrol voucher. Bottom line is that you have to give your card details for a £1 contribution to postage to get the voucher. The rub is the magazine costs £79 on a recurring automatic charge to your credit card. To cancel you have to call within 14 days to a premium rate number. Either way you're stuffed with charges you needn't have suffered. Aggressive sales, making it sound simple to cancel. Info about recurring charge not divulged until I asked. Caller was from Rumney in Cardiff.

This number phoned me me saying i have done a survey and i get £20 fuel vouchers so i sed ok thy wanted my bank details i thought it was a bit weird but i did thy sed i had 2 pay £1 for postage and i was getting a magazine as well wich i could cancel in 14 days or have 2pay £79 after ending the call i googled the number and found out it was a scam now i donno what 2 do

This business is operated by a guy called Wayne Phillips. He's listed as a director of about a dozen companies, many of which have either been dissolved or are officially not trading. I've managed to trace a number of addresses which are apparently his 'residences' mostly in South Wales but also one in Buckinghamshire. I could let you have them if you wish to contact him personally.

They phoned me telling me I'd completed a survey and that I would qualify for a £10 fuel voucher and a 'useful booklet'. It would only cost me £1. I asked them how they would collect this money - they said by credit card or debit card to which I replied - no thanks I never give my card details over the phone. She tried again with - but we find this is the easiest way to collect the money. I repeated "I'm not interested, sorry and good bye"

They mentioned a survey they did not remember taking, and one woman was told that she also won a gas card. To have the magazine and/or gas card mailed to you, they required a credit/debit card to be charged a small amount of money for shipping.

This number has just called the home phone and spoken to my partner. My partner had filled out some online surveys recently which was about gaining free samples etc. This was mentioned over the call and then offered him £20 worth of petrol or diesel vouchers, but would need his bank details over the phone to pay for postage. My partner was chatted to the person right up until this point... then stated 'with all due respect, as much as I would love the vouchers, I never have or will give my bank details out over the phone' then the guy just hung up! Didn't say anything and just put the phone down. Something very odd here I think!!

They called me up claiming I had filled out a telephone survey 5 days previously , which I 100% did not. He then said I was owed £20 of vouchers for the completion of the survey. He couldn't tell me what the survey was about or who the company was that ran it (because it never happened!) total scam!

I was expecting a call from a person on a number unknown to me. This number called but as soon as I answered put the phone down. My mum told me to check my credit and they had taken it. I had recently put £5 on my phone, and was left with only a couple of pounds.

sapphire magazine IS also your medical cabinet or a name like that having just been ripped off with the £79.99 scam recently i was actually in middle of trying to recover the amount taken and the phone rang to which a lady very politely was offering free samples or something of medical stuff or might of been shampoos etc anyway she somehow had my name and address which she confirmed (which i thought was odd) said she didnt need any £ and would send them out if i agreed to which she then read out the terms and i heard the name ME CLUB mentioned to which i stopped her and asked if they are associated to sapphire magazine and me club she said yes to which i said no thank you i dont want it basically if they have got your details from a call regards sapphire magazine they also still have your card details which by agreeing to have this free trial of stuff etc sent to you then you are authorizing them to use your card again from which they already have your card details so beware.

This number called me a few months ago about petrol vouchers etc then I fell for it. I keep getting calls from them despite cancelling the account before membership fees were to be paid. Just been called AGAIN about motor services (MOT and servicing). Despite saying no the guy still said he would send me their magazine. Luckily I've just been issued a new card so they don't have those details. WHAT A PAIN!!!!

I've got a call and text blocker on my mobile, best thing on my phone, they're free on android market, or on my Nokia 625, it's built in, it's good for those unwanted PPI and loan texts, then instead of stopping them, it just lets them send them, I've found, stopping them, doesn't work.

The woman claimed I assisted her company to complete a research sometime in June this year. [2014]. She was quite forceful from the onset.I would say she's absolutely rubbish scammer! ha ha ha ha. I suggested she deducts £1 from the £20 she was supposed to send to me-hence leaving me with just £19 fuel voucher. She claimed its against the company policy to do so. I could read between the lines-that she was a scammer. £20 fuel voucher just like that!!!!!!!I have never heard the name "Sapphire Research Company" before so I could not have assisted them to complete a research.If it is too good to be true run not just a mile but several miles!!!!

Please don't fall for this man's persuasive banter like I did unless you want sleepless nights and serious fear of what he can do with your information

I have not answered my phone and am glad after reading the comments above, its a wonder that they have not been caught yet, the cops should find out whom they are and deal with them by throwing the book at them.. Am blocking them as soon as i finish writing this out.

After reading above, I'm glad that I tend not to answer the phone unless I recognise the number. They keep phoning me all times, day and night. It's getting annoying. My dad's disabled so I need the phone to be free in case he's trying to get a hold of me. These people are just scam artists.

They rang me regarding a survey I had completed, as I fill in loads of surveys I believed this to be true.
They said I had won a £20 fuel voucher and gave a lot of information regarding how I can spend it etc. However they then went onto talk about how I could be part of their membership, which costs £79! I declined this but they insisted that if I wanted to take up the offer then the information would be included in the 'booklet'.
After this things I got suspicious as they went onto say that to receive the voucher I needed to spend £1 on P+P from Cardiff. As I don't have a card they perisisted and insisted that they phone back later on when I am with someone who has a card.
I suspected this was a scam so I blocked their number, 0844 567 0460 and I hope no-one falls into their trap! -

This number has called repeatedly over the last few days. They say that they want to send you a free magazine and petrol vouchers and want you to pay £1 for postage using using a credit or debit card. When I told them I would not give my card detail across they just hung up. How rude. Obviously a scam watch out.

These "people" (shall use the term loosely after reading the above) have rung us 3 times in 30 minutes today. I stated that Mrs Hanson (my Mum) wasn't availble, "when will she be available", "in 2 weeks", the phone was then slammed down on me, rang again "We'll ring her back" phone slammed down, "We'll ring back tomorrow" was the answer to the next phone call I answered (even though I'd just stated that I had spoken to the same woman twice and told them).... Unfortunately I know not to do anything, but wish it hadn't happened for me to warn her. :(

We realised this was a scam by ME CLUB unfortunatly after I had given them my card number. They say in their sales pitch that they will not withdraw any money until you receive the magazine & agree to a membership. I thought I was safe as I didn't tell them the 3 digit "security number" WRONG. They debited £1 within 1 minute of the call & 3 days later attempted to debit £65. Luckily I had realised it was a scam & contacted my credit cards helpdesk. who cancelled my card & blocked the later attempted withdrawal. BUT THESE GUYS ARE PERSISTANT LITTLE SCAMMERS. WE RECEIVED A CALL FROM THEM YESTERDAY SAYING THEY KNEW WE HAD CANCELLED OUR PREVIOUS MEMBERSHIP (NO £65) BUT OFFERED A REDUCED MEMBERSHIP FOR £26 IF I GAVE HIM MY NEW CARD DETAILS ! ! !
