JAKE reported number +448456021111 as FRAUDSTERS
So anon 13, if everyone follows your advice that you leave in your essays, will it stop fraudsters sending messages through this number trying to scam people? The oracle and encyclopidia about this number left a post a few months ago saying he had a scam message through this number and that he had reported it to action fraud, when it was pointed out to him that he said scams dont come through this number, he left another post saying it wasnt a scam, it was a parcel delivery he was expecting, so this anon 13 can not tell the difference between genuine and scam messages, but yet he leaves essay after essay claiming he knows all about this number, so basically if he is to believed he as reported a so called genuine delivery to action fraud. Seriously you could not come across someone more deluded in telling the truth.
Anon13 replied 5/11/25, 9:48 PMThis number is NOT a spam number. It is the BT owned and operated free to answer fully automated text to speech to landline translation and relay service number. It calls housephones when a text is sent to it. The text could be from someone you know texting your housephone instead of your mobile by mistake or it's an automated message from a business or organisation that you know and has your housephone number as the contact.
For detailed information about this number including how to pick out and avoid scammers spoofing this number check out the posts on this feed. A couple of dozen posts below. ALL of them. Also check the couple dozen or so of the highest rated posts on this feed. ALL of them. And check the banner post above. And also check our the posts on the other phone number checking sites. The latest couple of pages of posts and also the earliest couple of pages. ALL of them
That includes the fake Jake posts! ALL of themJAKE replied 5/12/25, 8:47 AMHere we again, poor anon 13 can not answer jakes simple question this low life never answers anyone's questions , instead he tries discredit all negative posts by saying there fake, he never tells you why there fake, this low life will do anything to distract from the truth. so anon 13 please tell us all why jake's posts are fake when there all backed up with genuine facts, check out who called me and unknown phone that both rate this number as dangerous, check out the 1000's of harassment and reported scams over 20 years, check out that they all prove beyond any doubt that jake is telling the truth and as got his facts right, where do you get your facts from anon 13, come big man dont be shy, tell us all where we can go to verify your so called genuine posts. i guarantee you folks this low life will not answer this because all his posts are made up in that deluded head of his.
Anyway back to the other question anon 13 that you so conveniently didnt answer ( funny that because you never answer any question that proves your fake) if people follow your advice will it stop fraudsters trying to scam them, its a very simple question, but it wont be answered.
This anon 13 really is a piece of work, its just so easy to prove this low life is a compulsive liar, in his essay below he claims he got involved with this number when he noticed the red poster insulting all green posts, for staters it was me who left a post on here 5 years ago about a bank scam I got through this number, when I checked the next day to see if anyone else had the same sort of scam, this anon 13 had left a post calling me a liar and other words, (basically the same as he is doing now), when I looked back over other posts there was a clear pattern, anyone who left a negative post got insulted by this anon 13 and that is the truth, but as always this low life twists the truth. this anon 13 claims he started posting about this number 5 years ago, so may be this compulsive liar can explain why his name is on posts 10 years ago on some sites, and that he as been bombarding every site to do with this number for at least 8 years, even by his own admission he claims he as been on these sites for 10 years, don't take my word for it, check it out for your self's, its all there in black and white to prove anon 13 is a compulsive liar.
Also in this deluded low life's essay below he says this number is verified in the banner above, how many times does this egoistic liar need telling, we all know this is a bt tx to audio service, the problem is fraudsters are using it to scam people, this can be verified also in the banner above warning people that fraudsters are spoofing numbers through this service, so that clearly means this number is not safe but dangerous. anon 13 claims most posts are left by people who are annoyed at this number ringing, the problem with this theory is there is not one single post on any website where someone as come back on and said it was from someone they know, so you can bet all the harassment post where scams too.
Anon 13 says not one phone provider says this number is dangerous, there is not ONE phone provider says its safe either, but all websites to do with this number warn about numbers been spoofed by fraudsters, so in my book there warning you its not safe along with the 1000's of posts from genuine people that are reports of scams, this can all be verified beyond any doubt if you go to unknown phone and who called me, both these websites rate this number as dangerous, but poor deluded anon 13 says they have got it wrong and the 1000's of posts reporting scams for 20 years are fake, the sad thing is he seriously expects you to believe this , but any one with a brain cell knows you can not argue with genuine facts, well any normal person knows this.
Also in this mad mans claims are to verify this number send yourself a tx through this service, so go on folks see if you can scam your self's, i know he really is pathetic. this anon 13 says check this service for legit posts, well there is the problem, please do as this deluded low life says and you will find there is only anon 13 who claims to get legit messages through this service, the other 99% of posts are of reports of harassment or scams, BUT YET WHERE ALL SUPPOSE TO BELIEVE ANON 13.
This anon 13 claims this number is safe and scams are rare through this service, if this is true, WHY does anon 13 keep leaving essay after essay how to avoid scams, and if this anon 13 does not get scam messages how does he know how to stop them, how does he know where to report them, how does he know how these scams work, he keeps leaving this information in his fake posts but then contradicts himself by saying scams cant come through this service and all genuine scam reports are fake, he should call himself mr contradicting, because that's all he does.
Now to sum up, we have one and only one individual claiming they get safe messages through this service, we have the same deluded individual claiming all websites that rate this number as dangerous have got it wrong, he also says 20 years and 99% of genuine posts are fake, now any one who tries to contradict all these genuine facts is trying to take us all for fools, anon 13 claims scammers would not want us to know the information he leaves, BUT a scammer would know all about this information, il leave to make your own minds up.
FOLLOW UP TO THIS LOW LIFE ANON 13 CLAIMS
Check up anon 13 reply to negative posts below his sad essay, this just proves what a delude compulsive liar he is, anon 13 says BT do not say anywhere this number can be spoofed, this totally contradicts what he says in his posts and what the BT banners say that he keeps telling us all to read, yet again this low life is trying to belittle and discredit the negative posts by saying they don't have a land line so could not of got a message through this number SERIOUSLY, if this was true how did I end up on here anon 13, this is explained earlier in my post, anon 13 is the reason im on here stopping this sad low life getting his sad, sick own way to scam the elderly. As for his rant about scams above, what scams, at no point in my post does it say they are scam reports, just proves again how this sick individual twist things, if you read them there all to do with elderly people been harassed, but as always low life anon 13 tries to distract from this fact, then this egoistic anon 13 says "why don't you look up the highly rated posts on this site" what highly rated posts" yet again just more twisted lies. this anon 13 was last week telling us all to listen to what the investigator post say, because they tell the truth, well that was until jake the investigator came on here and discredited all anon 13 posts as fake and untrustworthy, then all of a sudden investigator posts are fake. THIS IS HOW THIS LOW LIFE ANON 13 WORKS EVERY DAY, TWISTING AND DISTRACTING FROM THE GENUINE TRUTH THAT IS THERE FOR ALL TO READ AND LEAVES NO DOUBT ABOUT THIS NUMBER BEEN DANGEROUS, REALLY IS ONE VERY DISTURBED SCAMMER.
Check out anon 13 last sentence, accusing him of been a scammer is libel. HA, HA, HA, HA, HA, HA SUE ME SAD LITTLE SCAMMER.Anon13 replied 5/13/25, 9:04 AMFake Jake
Some time back I did think I had a scam text message sent to my landline phone via this number. First time that had happened! I reported the ORIGINATING number onto the reporting system NOT this automated relay service number. It turned out that an item I ordered from Amazon was not delivered via the usual Amazon system. It came via another source that had my landline number as the contact and it was them that sent the delivery time note. I did report that mistake at the time but it helps to read. -

Anyone needing to check this number that keeps calling their housephone are advised to read back the last couple of dozen or so posts on this feed. Also look up this number on the other phone number checking sites and read back the latest couple of pages of posts and the earliest couple of pages of reports.

There are posts that explain how to avoid scammers spoofing this legit text to speech to landline translation and relay service number and what to do if the message is a scam message.JAKE replied 5/11/25, 2:15 PMSo anon 13 is basically telling you to check back and read his posts and only his postd, go yo unknown phone and who called me sites, they both rate this number as dangerous, then read the 1000"s of genuine posts on them sites of reported scams and harassing phone calls. Then ask yourselfs how anon 13 can rate this number as trustworthy, and more to the point why would he rate it trustworthy when the genuine facts contrdict evrything he says. -
JAKE reported FRAUDSTERS with the number 08456021111 as Harassment calls
Any person who can come on this and other sites claiming this number is trustworthy when they themselfs leave essay after essay how to avoid scams is a complete fantasist or a serial scammer, this anon 13 is a complete DENIALIST, anyone wanting to know the meaning of what this anon 13 is will be posted below.
denialists. : a person who denies the existence, truth, or validity of something despite proof or strong evidence that it is real, true, or valid : someone who practices denialism. For those of us who prefer to remain based in reality, the denialists represent a conundrum.
This describes anon 13 to a T, no matter how much genuine evidence and facts you present to this person, he will do his best to dicredit them and distract from the genuine truth. And that is why this low life is seriousy dangerous beyond any doubt.
FACTS, All other websites rate this number as dagerous. FACTS 20 years and 1000's of post reporting harassment and attempted scams. And then we have this anon13 saying they have got it wrong or fake. SAYS IT ALL. -

"Scamming fraudsters are spoofing this number and hiding behind the fact that it's "technical legit" because its owned by bt open reach, bt has no direct control over this number and even talk talk and Vodafone customers have been scammed on it because they use the open reach network for landlines. This scamming grifter posting under anon 13 is trying to get the elderly scammed and will use any measures to discredit any detractors. Ask yourself, why would they post about this number every single day for 20 years on this and other sites when they don't work for bt If they were just average honest people. SCAM"

NO LIES reported number 08456021111 as FRAUDSTERS
This anon 13 just can't help him self, he is like a spoilt little kid in the school yard who just can't get his own way, yet again more useless essays just to try discredit all negative posts, this is all this egoistic, dangerous, individual does, he says why would he warn about scammers if he was a scammer, read his posts, and no matter what false rubbish he puts in them they all have the same intention, and that is to convince you to listen to that message, any genuine person would not discredit posts warning about scams, any genuine person would not try discredit genuine facts, but yet this low life anon 13 does exactly that after every negative post left. WHY. Go to unkownphone and who called me, these are the 2 main sites for reporting unkown numbers that call you, you will notice they both rate this number as dangerous, readback over 20 years of posts from people who have been harassed or reports of scams, also check out anon 13 on every one of them trying to discredit all these posts, so all the websites contradict every thing he says and for 20 years 99% of other people contradict what anon 13 says, the truth is there for all to read, and yet anon 13 still says there fake, now if ever there was sign's of a deluded scammer, anon 13 shows all the sign's of one. if you got who called me you will find this site closed for this number, that's because anon 13 got it closed down for bombarding it with false essays, you will also notice the site moderators deleted all anon 13 false posts and all that's left is genuine reports of scams and harassment, but this low life anon 13 will tell you there wrong, if you go to unknown phone, you will also see this as been shut down because of anon 13 bombarding it with fake posts, and now he is doing the same on this site in the hope they close it down, BECAUSE HE DOES NOT WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW THE TRUTH. This sad, dangerous , individual is only out to confuse and scam the elderly, this as been proven over and over again, he as been warned god knows how many times about this but yet he still keeps posting his fake posts, does this sound like the actions of someone genuine, not in my book. you have to laugh at this low life that claims only one individual is posting all the red negative posts over the last 20 years and all websites that rate this number as dangerous have got it wrong, the truth is exactly the opposite, its only one sad low life posting this number is safe, and the is the pathetic anon 13, don't take my word for it, check out the other sites and you will realise ANON 13 IS BEYOND ANY DOUBT A COMPULSIVE LIAR.
Most people would not argue against genuine facts that are there in black and white, well most normal people wouldn't, but after saying that it is clear for all to see that anon 13 is not normal. Please check out the other websites mentioned.TRUTH TELLER replied 5/8/25, 11:05 AMLets see if anon 13 can explain to us all why the negative poster warning people about scams coming through this number is dangerous. -

Below is the last paragraph of christian antons banner that anon 13 keeps telling you to read, you will find even christian anton telecommunications expert for this site warns about scammers spoofing numbers.
"However, official phone numbers from large companies are also often the target for scammers and you may receive a call from this number when it is spoofed. Always check if the call seems legitimate to you and whether you even use such services, otherwise, do not respond."
Christian Anton
Consumer protection and telecommunications expert
So yet again anon 13 essays shot down in flames, bt contradict what he says about him getting messages about fibre optic network and now the banner he keeps telling every one to read contradicts his fake essays about this number been safe, this just proves beyond any doubt how dangerous this egoistic compulsive liar really is.Anon13 replied 5/7/25, 4:47 PMAnyone checking this number that keeps calling their housephone should read back a dozen or so posts on this feed. ALL of them!
Reference the nutty red rated posts (all from the same individual):-
ALL legit business numbers can be spoofed. ALL OF THEM! There are posts below that set out exactly how to avoid scammers spoofing this legit text to speech to landline translation and relay service number. There is also a comment on one of the Anon13 posts just below that explains how to avoid scammers spoofing legit bank phone numbers - a VERY dangerous scam. Fraudsters will not want anyone to know that.Anon13 replied 5/8/25, 9:00 AMOne other point:
If the nutty red poster is serious about stopping fraudsters, why not do something about it?
There is another phone number checking site that the red poster knows very well that lists all the latest scam call reports. Why not respond to these posts as I do several times a day and tell people how to report scam calls. The government working with the police and OfCom set the system up although not well publicised.
Text call details to 7726 or use your phone's spam report facility. Check for any acknowledgement as you may need to confirm the report.
Forward texts to 7726 and also email a screenshot or copy&paste to '[email protected]'
Forward emails to '[email protected]' and also report via the email phishing report system- 3 dots top right corner of the email.
For more info check the police.uk Action Fraud phishing reporting web page. Also check the National Cyber Security Centre website PHISHING report section: 'https:// www.ncsc.gov.uk/ collection/ phishing-scams'.
If you lost money to a scam or have information about a scammer report it to Action Fraud by calling 03001232040.
This number, by the way, is a usually safe messaging service. Details how it works have been posted on this feed. If you look hard enough, you will see posts from people getting legit messages via this service number. Like all all reports on all phone number checking sites, most reports are from people who didn't answer and assumed a scam.JAKE replied 5/8/25, 10:16 AMThis anon 13 just can not stand the fact that all other websites rate this number as dangerous, this anon 13 can not stand the fact that for 20 years 99% people have rated this number as harassing our dangerous and all these facts are proven beyond any doubt on the websites unkown phone and who called me, but yet this so called encyclopedia of knowledge about this number claims all the websites have got it wrong and for 20 years just one individual as left 1000's of red posts. THIS ANON 13 IS ONE SERIOUSLY DELUDED LOW LIFE. His only aim in life is to confuse and scam the elderly, this as been proven beyond any doubt every time he leaves a post. -
TRUTH TELLER reported number 08456021111 as FRAUDSTERS
Below is a quote from the last few anon 13 posts.
"I've had letters, emails and at least 5 audio text messages to my housephone from BT in the past few weeks telling me what to do as my region switched."
And below is what the bt web site says.
"Over the next 12 months, BT will also focus on migrating those most ready to switch – that means certain people won't be migrated, including:
People with healthcare pendants (or other similar devices)
Those over 70
People living in areas with no or poor mobile reception
Customers who have made BT aware of with any additional needs"
So folks just to prove this low life green poster is telling lies again, he claims he as health problems, he claims he is over 70, he claims he lives in an area with no phone signal, so that folks is 3 reason out of 4 why bt will not be migrating these people, but yet this sick dangerous individual posting in green claims bt have already changed him and sent letters and emails and at least 5 messages, how can this possibly happen when bt clearly say they will not migrate these people on to the system. ANY ONE FOLLOWING THE GREEN POST FAKE UN VEIFIED, UN RATED POSTS DESERVES TO BE SCAMMED, ANYONE WITH A BRAIN CELL CAN READ HE IS A SAD FAKE OUT TO CONFUSE AND SCAM THE ELDERLY. REALLY IS VERY SAD.Anon13 replied 5/7/25, 9:35 AMThe post below explains what this number is and how it works - and how to avoid scammers misusing this system. See also the banner post above. I've been getting text messages sent to my housephone in audio format for many years with no problem. Most have been from people I know texting my my housephone instead of my mobile by mistake or from a business or organisation that I know that has my housephone as the contact and sent an automated text message.
The person posting that this is a scam number and everyone who says otherwise is a scammer obviously can't understand English. This person clearly does not have access to a landline phone so could never have had a text message sent to it translated by the system into audio. These fake danger posts about a LEGIT messaging service are dangerous. And if anyone thinks this number is dangerous, look up all the phone numbers listed on your bank account on the phone number checking sites! That is really scary but avoiding scammers spoofing bank numbers is also easy (you end the call, check to ensure your phone line has cleared, you call your bank to check if it is them calling by phoning the number on your debit or credit card).
This Digital Voice system connected to the new Optic Fibre broadband system that the fake poster is on about will eventually reach everyone in the UK. Only those that need to keep the copper wire based system will not be migrated to the new digital voice system. Presumably that will only carry on until technology catches up. The problem with pendant alarms and other alarm systems connecting to the Optic Fibre system was not initially recognised and delayed the rollout of the new system until it was sorted.
I'm over 70 and switched with no problem. What's age got to do with it? My landline phone works exactly the same way as it always worked except the built in answerphone no longer works. I now have to check for messages every time the phone flags a missed call and that is annoying. Also, the phone doesn't work if the router is switched off and that is VERY annoying. But apart from that - no problems. All I had to do for the switch was to set up the new router, link my devices to it and unplug my landline from the wall socket and plug it into the router. Simples!
Those in the UK where there are patchy mobile signals want the new Digital Voice/Optic Fibre system more than anyone and will be getting or now have it. These people probably get more audio text messages sent to their landline than anybody.THE TRUTH TELLER replied 5/7/25, 2:39 PMThe only dangerous person on all these sites is this anon 13 who can not verify his so called rated posts, how can someone dangerous for warning people about scams coming through this number, this is all this compulsive liar does is try dicredit negative posts and distract from the truth. the problem with this sad person is his ego is that big he does not care who gets scammed, even if it means the elderly. the only excuse this sad anon 13 has ever come out with about negative posts been dangerous is "people may miss a genuine message" well seen as this anon 13 is the only person on the planet to get genuine messages through this service and 99% of other people and 20 years of posts totally contradict everything this compulsive liar anon 13 says. who's the dangerous one, some one warning about scams coming through this service, or this anon 13 who as been warned time and time again that his fake and misleading essays are causing the elderly to be scammed, but yet he still keeps posting them. WHO'S THE DANGEROUS INDIVIDUAL NOW. -
Anon13 reported SMS Message with the number 08456021111 as Trustworthy number
For anyone checking why this number keeps on calling their housephone, it's the fully automated free to answer BT owned and operated text to speech to housephone translation and relay service. Most phone providers and many businesses use this service to ensure text messages sent to non-text enabled housephones are delivered. The text could be from someone you know texting your housephone instead of your mobile by mistake or it's an automated message from a business that you know that has your housephone number as the contact. This service has been operating for decades – since 02 was part of BT hence the number.
When you pick up the phone, BT will announce itself and will then tell you the originating number. If the message is from BT the bot voice will say so. You will then be offered options to press buttons on your phone. Unless you are 101% certain that the call is legit, ignore the options. The message will be read out when the bot runs out of options. Be aware that attachments, emojis, Gifs etc will cause the message to fail and the computer still has problems reading out long complex numbers. When the message is read out you will then be given further options - 'save', 'repeat', 'delete'. I usually delete at which time you will be told how to change the curfew time that this number can call and also block all future calls from this legit messaging service. In the event of a scam message (unlikely but possible) the scam number to report by text to 7726 and on this site will be the originating number.
As the copper cable system for our phone and broadband network is being replaced with optic fibre across the UK, all housephones will switch to the Digital Voice system. That’s 40% of all households in the UK. I've had letters, emails and at least 5 audio text messages to my housephone from BT in the past few weeks telling me what to do as my region switched. That's more than double the audio messages so far this year than I had the whole of last year!
Be aware this service will not work on answerphones, it does keep calling until the message is answered or it times out after 24 hours and the message is deleted. It will not call during the curfew period - 11pm to 8am. Emojis Gifs, attachments etc could cause the message to fail. You can call this number back to retrieve your message within the 24 hour period but there will be a Business Rate charge of 5p per hour plus your network connection charge.
All information posted above is based on my personal experience of getting text messages sent to my non-text enabled landline phone over many years. -

I AM AN INVESTIGATOR FOR THIS SITE, and as anon 13 says in his own words should be believed.
After further investigation i can not find any evidence to back up or verify this anon 13 claims, i have notice a clear patter in anon 13 posts, he tries his best to discredit all negative post but never produces one bit of evidence to prove this. For 20 years unknownphone and who called me have rated this number as dangerous, for 20 years there have been over a 1000 reports of harassment and attempted scams, but yet this anon 13 who can not even verify his own posts claims the web sites have all got it wrong and all negative posts are left by someone as genuine as a £9 note, SERIOUSLY, its clear for anyone with a brain cell that anon13 is trying to take us all for fools, none of what he says in his false essays can be found on any other web site which just proves its all what he as made up in that head of his. There is only this anon13 going from web site to web site leaving completely false essays to convince everyone this number is safe when for 20 years the other websites and 1000's reports of scams totally contradict every thing anon 13 says. This anon13 is a compulsive liar and this as been proven time and time again, he contradicts every thing he says when he is proven a liar, i think that says it all about this sad person. if you check out the other 2 other web sites i mentioned, you will find they have been closed because of this anon13 false and misleading essays just out to confuse and scam the elderly. time to make your minds up, do you believe the false essays of one man crusade, or do you believe 20 years of proven genuine facts, and if anyone is still in any doubt just to prove this anon 13 contradict's himself, he claims all scam reports posted can not come through this number, if this is true why does he keep leaving essays claiming how to avoid scams every day.
After investigating anon13 claims i can conclude there is not a shred of evidence to back them up, i can also conclude that every other website to do with this number and 20 years of genuine scam reports totally contradicts everything anon 13 says. Therefore this site will not verify anon13 fake essays. -

There is an individual posting under various names below (they are as genuine as a £9 note) with severe problems. This person has no idea how this BT audio text service works and seems oblivious to the dangers of spoofed legit numbers and the importance of SAFELY picking up legit calls. Legit phone numbers must never be ignored on the off-chance scammers may spoof them. We must all know how to avoid scammers so we only engage with legit calls. Anyone checking this number that keeps calling their housephone should read the Christian Anton banner post at the top of this page. And then read back the last few posts on this page. But also look at some of the earliest posts on this site.
And this really is the BT owned and operated text to speech to landline translation and relay service used by most phone providers to ensure that text messages sent to non text enabled housephones are safely delivered. ARE AIM IS TO INVESTIGATE ALL THE SCAM MESSAGES COMING THROUGH THIS SERVICE.
Anyone in any doubt about this number please go to unkownphone and read the banner above, take note of the big bold warning that this web site rates this number as dangerous, also check back on this web site where you will find genuine posts from people who have tried to be scammed, you will also find that all the anon 13 posts are all left by the same person that is on a one man crusade to convince us all that this number is safe when 99.9% of other posts prove beyond doubt this number is dangerous. As always this green poster as tried to discredit the red posts by saying they don't understand that people get messages through this service, the red poster knows exactly how this service works and that is why they warn people about scams coming through this number. its amazing how every time the red poster proves the green poster is a scammer the green poster leaves an essay full of lies, now all of a sudden all his neighbours get messages through this service, SERIOUSLY. AS for the red poster been a dangerous person, this coming from a man who as been told time and time again that his fake and misleading posts are confusing the elderly and could cause them to get scammed, but yet he still keeps leaving these misleading essay posts, WHO'S THE REAL DANGEROUS PERSON NOW.
Sill no answers to where this web site rules are green poster, and still not one bit of evidence to where your posts are rated and can be verified, this green poster will now leave a post that all red posters questions have been answered many times, but folks this anon 13 can not say where these answers are, i find that very strange seen as this lowlife normally as an answer for every thing, never the truth thou. The green poster knows he as never answered the red posters questions, how can he answer them when all his posts are what he as made up in that sick head of is, anyone leaving posts that confuse the elderly and could cause them to get scammed and as been warned about this many times but still keeps posting green post essays is up to no good and obviously not genuine. THATS FACT

Anon13 reported SMS Message with the number 08456021111 as Trustworthy number
Anyone needing to check this number that keeps calling their landline phone should read the banner post above. That's right! Someone has sent a text message to your non-text enabled landline phone. The system has attempted to translate it into audio and relay it it on.
What the banner post does not make clear is most phone providers use this BT system so non-BT customers can get calls from this number. Also the system will keep on calling as it attempts to deliver the message until it times out and the message is deleted after 24 hours. The system will not call between 11pm and 8am although you can reset the curfew time.
You will always be told the originating number when you pick up the phone before being given options to press buttons on your phone. If you are not familiar with this system and are not sure, ignore the options to press buttons on your phone. That's how to avoid the danger of scammers spoofing this number although scammers are far more likely to spoof your bank phone number. Just keep listening and the message will be read out when the bot voice runs out of options. Be aware that attachments, Gifs, Emojis, links will cause the message to fail.
In the unlikely event of a scam message getting through, the scam number to report by text to 7726 and onto the phone number checking sites is the originating number not this fully automated relay service number. If you lost money to a scam or have information about a scammer, report it directly to Action Fraud by calling 03001232040.
Incidentally to avoid scammers spoofing your bank phone number, if you get any unexpected contact from your bank, you terminate the contact, check to ensure your phone connection has cleared and call your bank using the number on your bank card or account details. Banks are happy for you to do that. Scammers will want no one to do thatJAKE replied 5/2/25, 12:18 PMYet another totally misleading essay by anon 13 just trying to convince you all to listen to your message so they can scam you.

Below is a quote about optic fibre digital voice system from the last few green posts ANON 13
Anon 13 replied 10/2/23, 7:59 PMParcel Force do text ahead of deliveries to give an ETA of when the parcel is expected to arrive at its destination. If the contact number is a landline, the text will arrive in audio format via this BT owned text to speech to landline translation and relay service number.
Delivery scam texts will always have a link to click on. On a landline?
Also, the safety advice posted about this free to answer service tells you NOT to press 1 just because a computer voice asks you to do. Hang on and say and do nothing and the message will be read out.
If you get a scam text via this fully automated service, the scam number to report will be the originating number not this relay number. The system will always tell you the originating number of the text when you pick up.

This number is not safe and the green poster knows it. Its very dangerous, scammers are not only spoofing the messaging service to get you to press 1 for a cost trap of being forwarded to a scammer. They are actually able to come through this number as a call and pretent to be from BT and attempt to get details. If you block this service you wont miss any messages because nobody ever has any ! The text message will be read out when the computer gets to the end of the list of options. You can't be scammed just by picking up the annoying ringing phone provided you do absolutely nothing except listen.
Most phone providers use this BT service to ensure text messages sent to landlines get delivered. There are several techy companies offering this text audio translation service to clients and the phone operators will not use this BT service if it was inherently unsafe.
This is a fully automated service. The top rated post on this feed will tell you how to block this number if that's what you want but think very carefully before blocking genuine business numbers unless there is no chance that you will get genuine calls from that number.
Blocking numbers will not reduce the scam calls and texts we all get. Scammers will just keep using any one of millions of computer generated fake or spoofed numbers. Scam numbers and the scam details should be reported by text to '7726' as well as on number checking sites like this one. (This number is just a relay number. It's just one of BT's services, so get over it folks.l
Avoiding scammers spoofing this number so only genuine messages are heard is easy and how to do so has been posted many times on this and on other sites and not only by me. Scammers are far more likely to spoof bank numbers - a highly profitable scam. I have posted how to avoid being scammed by callers pretending to be from 'your bank' many times as well. I have also posted many times how to report scam calls, texts etc onto the system set up by the government working with the police Action Fraud, the National Cyber Security Centre, OfCom and most of our phone providers.
Incidentally, I have had 2 audio text messages sent to my housephone over the past couple of weeks via this number. I can't prove it of course. But I have been getting messages in this way for a very long time. I know others who also get audio texts via this service and other text to voice audio text services.
So as PENDRAGON says - GET OVER IT!
