This number is ao.com. They ring it when you've placed an order in the pretence of confirming delivery details etc. In fact, their sole purpose is to sell you their costly insurance cover for the items you've bought. No new information re delivery details is provided, they just repeat your order details. These are unsolicited scripted insurance sales calls and as such a form of harassment. They don't leave a message when they ring so that you ring back and incur the cost of the call. Very shoddy behaviour.

AO, confirming delivery. Not really needed, and yes did try to sell extended warranty, but accepted 'No Thank you' with no problems
-
consistently called after i purchased a T.V from A.O. so annoying and they never leave a voicemail. probably trying to trick me into buying insurance.
-
Call following my order of a fridge from AO. Started out by giving me a little bit of fairly useful information regarding the delivery, but the main purpose of the call was to upsell insurance. There's no need to answer this call.

AO.com trying to sell you insurance on purchases under the pretense of confirming delivery info. Upon checkout you're required to leave two phone addresses, a main and a backup, and they called both simultaneously
-
AO.com - Some smooth talker basically signing you up to an extended warranty on your appliance without really asking you directly. When questioned, the agent was very clear this wasn't an extended warranty, "they just replace your appliance if it breaks". So, an extended warranty then.
"So, I'll enable that for you and if you change your mind you have 28 days to call us back" -
AO call you after placing an order to ask if you require insurance for your item.
When you order you get asked if you want this call, so you can say no. -
As previous comments. From company trying to sell insurance after ordering a cooker from ao.com who probably sell your details to them. I just cut them off
-
Phoned to confirm delivery and sell insurance which was actually a good deal.
-
Like above A0.Com,
Bought a appliance from them i got delivery confirmation.
They called everyday for 4 days and continued after appliance had been delivered.
(Appliance insurance) -
AO calling to "confirm delivery details" (which I'd already received an email from them to confirm)... but hang on - would I like to buy insurance from them? Every time I place an order with them this happens. FYI, they use Domestic and General for extended warranties - who you can buy from yourself without using AO. I find it cheaper to put the money in a savings account to cover any repairs for all my appliances, and always end up quids in.
-
Ao.com to talk through delivery and then offer additional insurance on product. Nice guy, ended in a sales pitch but didn't mind
-
ordered a tv yesterday non stop phone calls from them really annoying
-
They confirm delivery details and try and sell you insurance. No big deal

Just been called 30 mins after ordering a new cooker from AO.com. Like others have said, checking about delivery, disposal of old item, then came the why the replacement, and then the sales pitch for insurance. Said I already had cover for that sort of thing and he instantly hung up, whilst I was mid-sentence. Must be having a bad day.

Its not just AO
I just received a call from a young woman claiming to be from boots appliances, in the pretence of confirming delivery details etc. In fact her sole purpose was to sell insurance cover!
She repeated every detail of my delivery, which I already know, told me they can remove my old appliance, which I already know etc etc etc then asked me why my old appliance was broken! All leading to the insurance pitch! These are badly scripted insurance sales calls!
I am very disappointed that boots have potentially 'sold' my details to a 3rd party and that they allow this.
I have never experienced this from currys etc,
Very dissapointed!Trev replied 2020-07-23 18:42:30Don't know if you realised that boots electrical is run by AO.com it's very visible. -
Follow up call to the purchases made with AO
-
AO calling to confirm delivery of recent order but really to sell extended cover. This wasn't made clear until they mentioned the cost per week at the end of their spiel. Was able to decline without any hassle though.
-
Just calling to sell insurance on my recently purchased cooker. Politely declined. No issues.
-
So many calls. Unbelievable
-
received calls within an hour of ordering from ao.com. Didn't answer, just googled the number and this site came up. I don't like people ringing me up trying to sell me things. Will block the number.

An insurance sales call related to AO.com.
They are trying to to sell aftermarket insurance policies. It is a scam !
They either stay silent or talk about your AO.com purchase delivery details.
These are unsolicited insurance sales calls. They are scripted and are harassment.
Report them. -
Purports to update you about a delivery (for which you have already received emails and text messages), but really wants to flog you further insurance.
Asked them that as I had already paid extra for a morning delivery, for which they could not uphold, why would I want to give them more money!? -
Hangs up immediately
-
I have no idea why they are calling. They have called my home number 6 times a day for the past 2 weeks.
-
It's AO, and they will continuously spam you ALL day, it's really irritating.
I couldn't take the call as I was at work so in the end I blocked the number.
Six times a day honestly is a bit much, great company but this is annoying. -
AO trying to sell insurance. BLOCK
-
selling insurance on new tv purchased
-
Very pleasant caller asking if I was interested in product insurance. I replied that I was covered on my bank account. She remained polite and informed me of my delivery details. No pressure at all.
-
Endless calls from this number after buying an appliance from AO.
-
Constantly called, already recieved the item and now bombarded with crap/shoddy sale pitches.

AO Insurance scam. It seems AO haven't heard of GDPR. Almost feel like cancelling my order for such underhanded pretence after care call when in fact its all about selling the consumer a nonsensical insurances. Clearly under Data Protection Act and GDPR, AO is breaking privacy regulations.

AO - checking through details of order, although seemed like just a cover for the fact they wanted to sell an extended warranty. When declined, aske why, but did then accept reasoning e.g. over time they really are not cost effective.
-
Has been harassing me for over a year, trying to sell me insurance despite my explicit demand that they stop calling.
-
Called to confirm delivery but mainly to flog an extended warranty. Girl was incredibly annoying and called me hun several times which is so unprofessional and really got on my nerves. She also called me by my first name without asking. Who is teaching these people to handle calls? Felt like I was talking to an extra off Geordie shore. Pretty sure the delivery would have gone fine without this call.

Called 6 times I’ve now blocked the number
